Supreme Novices' HurdleSee All Odds
Following Tuesday’s deadline for entries in no less than six Cheltenham Festival races, we look at three betting trends seen across oddschecker following the deadline.
Lulamba Backed for Supreme Tilt
The current 13/8 favourite for the Triumph Hurdle in March, Lulamba, has seen a surge of bets backing Nicky Henderson’s four-year-old for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle.
Since midday Tuesday, 44% of Supreme bets placed through oddschecker have backed Lulamba, making her the clear top bet in that time. This is a remarkable increase from the mere 0.3% of total bets for this race in the month leading up to Tuesday.
In the Non-Runner No Bet markets we have, Lulamba is valued as a 4/1 second favourites. However, the ante-post markets have Lulamba at a best price of 25/1.
Five-year-old Salvator Mundi currently heads the market at 7/2. One key betting trend that wouldn’t favour Lulamba in this race is the fact that no four-year-old has won it since 1999. In fact, Appreciate It (2021) was the only winner in the previous 16 renewals to not be aged five or six years old.

Nicky Henderson Ready to Unveil German Derby Winner
Another Nicky Henderson horse completes the top two here, as the trainer prepares to unveil the £1.4million German Derby winner, Palladium, at Huntingdon on Thursday. Palladium is a 1/6 favourite to make a winning start over hurdles in the 1m7f Maiden Hurdle.
Punters have been getting on Palladium ahead of a potential price shift on Thursday, with 48% of bets since the Triumph Hurdle’s entries on Tuesday backing him (only 24% on Lulamba). His odds have been clipped from 16/1 to 10/1 in places with a best price of 14/1 available in ante-post markets.

Wendigo Making Moves in the Albert Bartlett
Topping the list of total bets in the Albert Bartlett on oddschecker is a 50/1 shot in the shape of Jamie Snowden’s Wendigo. Picking up over a fifth of all Albert BarTlett bets since Tuesday, Wendigo was last seen finishing second to Turners’ favourite, The New Lion, in the Challow Hurdle.
Bookmakers offering Non-Runner No Bet have Wendigo down as a 20/1 shot for this race. In the month leading up to Tuesday’s entries, we’d only seen a mere 0.9% of total bets for Wendigo in the Albert Bartlett.
