Aidan Coleman finds value away from the favourites in both the Turners Novices Hurdle and Champion Chase on Day 2 at Cheltenham.

Before the action started at Prestbury Park, we caught up with former National Hunt Jockey, Aidan Coleman, to watch his famous Festival races and discuss what it takes to win at Cheltenham.
This includes a 22-length defeat in the Supreme Novices Hurdle on Jonbon, who is the hot favourite to win today's Champion Chase.
Coleman hit the post with two of his betting tips on Day 1 but he's back with three more on Ladies' Day at Cheltenham. And remember if you're betting on the Cheltenham Festival this week, you can find the best free bets on oddschecker - good luck!
Aidan Coleman's Cheltenham Tips
First tip for Day 2 at Cheltenham is Potters Charm in the Turners Novices Hurdle, simply because of the value he provides.
He should be coming here unbeaten. His last run was an afterthought and sometimes that really doesn't work. He wasn't trained for the race.
He got too fresh at home, so they said they have to run him or something would go wrong. I really have a lot of respect for Final Demand and The New Lion but I really think at this race, the value is with Potters Charm.
He should be coming here unbeaten. He won a Grade 1 over two miles at Christmas and he's a top class horse.

My second selection is Ballyburn. He obviously won here last year being one of the bankers of the meeting. Even though he's short, I think he's far too big a price for a couple of reasons.
First, his jumping - I think he's very safe and very accurate. He might not be a spectacular jumper but he really gets from A to B safely.
And also the three miles which I really don't think is a problem. He hit the line very strong the last time at Leopardstown. I know it was over 2.5 but Leopardstown takes a lot of getting so I'm sure three miles isn't a problem.
And as I said he was odds-on last year to win a novice hurdle here and I think he should be odds-on this year to win the novice chase.

My third bet is Marine Nationale without Jonbon in the Champion Chase. I think Jonbon is by far the best horse in the race, particularly on a different track.
I think Cheltenham doesn't suit him as well but at the same time I think he's good enough. He should be winning this race because he's got so much in hand. If you ran this race around Sandown or Kempton, he probably would be a lot, lot shorter than this.
In saying that, he's got beat at Cheltenham plenty. There's always excuses and there's every chance there could be one tomorrow. I think Marine Nationale is coming to the boil really nice.
His jumping has been a bit sticky, but the last couple of runs I've seen a lot of promise in it. And if anything's going to trouble Jonbon, it's Marine Nationale - the value play in the race.
