Jack Kennedy has chosen to ride STAFFORDSHIRE KNOT (best priced at 11/8) who has the benefit of race fitness over Better Days Ahead and Hiddenvalley Lake who are both having their first starts for over 283 days.
Staffordshire Knot has form figures of 3112 so far this season and is proven on the heavy ground that he will encounter here. He pulled 18 lengths clear of the third when beaten only ½ length by Home By The Lee at Gowran Park in the Galmoy Hurdle last time and he looks the one to beat.

This race looks weaker than it first appears with eighteen runners but GRINGO D’AUBRELLE (best priced at 3/1) looks the one to beat if avoiding a jumping mishap like last time. The Gordon Elliott trained ten-year-old won a listed handicap hurdle at this track over hurdles on his penultimate start off a mark of 124 and was then sent off 9/4 favourite back over fences at Punchestown last time when falling at the sixth fence under 7lb claimer Josh Halford.
Jack Kennedy now takes over on board Gringo D’Aubrelle for the first-time in his career and he looks well handicapped off a mark of 113 which is 18lbs lower than his mark over hurdles. Connections now fit him with first-time cheekpieces and he should justify favouritism.
