Belgium's entry, Blanche has been the second most popular bet in the market.
It’s been announced that The Voice (Belgium) competitor Blanche will be representing her country in Ukraine for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
Blanche will perform her song ‘City Lights’ in the first semi-final in Kiev on the 9th of May, but already her chances of success in Ukraine look pretty likely. According to the odds her chance of winning the big prize has increased from 1.5% to 16.7% in the last two days, which is a movement from 66/1 to 5/1.
The drop in odds has attracted punters, since Tuesday morning Belgium has been the most popular choice in the Eurovision market. Just over 17% of bets have been placed on Blanche winning the event, however Portugal remain the most popular selection, accounting for 31% of bets.
Australia’s announcement has had a negative effect on their chances of winning in Kiev, X-Factor winner Isaiah Firebrace has been nominated to represent his country but since the news was announced, Australia’s odds have drifted from 7/1 to as big as 14/1 in places.
