With the final imminent, there could be some big prices in the current markets...
Israel will benefit from being the hosts, but even so I was surprised to see 12/1 available for them to finish bottom of the ladder. Germany are quite rightly favourites for the wooden spoon, but 12/1 is far too good to turn down.
The hosts have a slightly more favourable draw than the Germans, but it’s still not what you’d class as perfect. In my eyes it’s between Israel and the Germans, San Marino’s song has the potential to score ok-ish with the public and the UK will collect a few points along the way. To be perfectly honest Israel entry has to be one of the worst in recent years.
The way Czech Republic’s song was received on social media I’m shocked to see nearly 4/1 available for a top 10 finish. I fancied the catchy song to spring a surprise and potentially win the contest, however being drawn third has pretty much ended any chance of this happening.
With bookmakers offering five places at Eurovision, Australia look a cracking bet at 13/2. Their stage performance earned huge accolades in the media following their semi-final, and they have a cracking draw.
I don’t see a way that the Aussies don’t finish in the top five. A press poll was conducted after the first semi-final which saw Australia finish miles above anyone else.
If their song matched the quality of the stage performance, they’d be similar odds to Netherlands.
