1. Nikola Jokic (-260) Bet $100 to collect $138. FanDuel has the best odds, click here
As mentioned, Jokic got no odds bump, but that’s fine. He firmly holds the frontrunner odds to bring home the hardware for his third straight season. That sounds crazy, but it’s a very real possibility. Jokic has the make and mold of another MVP season, which includes the top seed in his conference, great on/off numbers, and MVP-level statistics. Not only does he have the tools to win the MVP, but his advanced numbers are miles ahead of everyone else. The only roadblock I see here is voter fatigue taking over, but that’s a conversation for later.
2. Joel Embiid (+500) Bet $100 to collect $600. BetRivers has the best odds, click here
Embiid doing what Embiid does best, and that’s staying in Jokic’s shadow in the accolades race. It seems like each of the past few years, Embiid has come close to winning a big award, but Jokic outlasts him. He’s up to Luka Doncic in scoring, and he’s got the rest of the stats to win the award, including a solid record that is keeping his squad within arm’s reach of the top spot in the Eastern Conference. His last week of basketball has included three games with 30+ points and one 40-point game. His odds bump was more than earned, even if it wasn’t a huge boost.
3. Giannis Antetokounmpo (+800) Bet $100 to collect $900. FanDuel has the best odds, click here
Like Embiid, Giannis got an odds bump this week, though his was slightly more of a bump. I mean, Giannis didn’t lose a basketball game in February, and that includes the All-Star game. Okay, yeah, that one doesn't matter, but the winning has been incredible from Giannis and the Bucks lately. His numbers, along with everyone else’s on the list, are incredible. It’s hard to compare the stats because 30 points per game are more common, and big statistical games are the new normal. Giannis went 2-1 in the last week and had some incredible games in doing so.
4. Jayson Tatum (+4000) Bet $100 to collect $4100. BetRivers has the best odds, click here
Tatum had an incredible week, too, but his team went 2-2, which hurts his odds. I’m not exactly sure what made Tatum drop this far in the odds other than some incredible performances and stretches from the players listed above him. He’s scored himself two 40-point games and a 30-point game over the past week, too. Tatum’s Celtics slipped up and lost the first seed to the Bucks, too, so that hurt his odds, too.
5. Luka Doncic (+5500) Bet $100 to collect $5600. FanDuel has the best odds, click here
The Mavericks are the eighth seed in the Western Conference. It would take a historical performance for a player to win the MVP with a team towards the bottom of playoff teams. Luka’s absurd stats and performances – which have slipped back closer to the rest of the MVP candidates – are the only thing keeping him in the race. With the other MVP candidates stringing together some incredible stats while winning much more, they have much more compelling cases, sending Luka to the bottom of this list and some.
