The 12th edition of The Basketball Tournament (TBT) has its final eight teams set to play in the 2025 Quarterfinals on Sunday and Monday night. 61 teams entered this single-elimination tournament, with a $1 million winner take-all prize.
The majority of TBT rosters are comprised of former alumni at various college basketball programs. Teams were grouped into eight regions, with all regional hosts having the right to home court advantage through the TBT Championship Game. Seeding was only determined by ticket sales though, with higher-seeded teams being rewarded for selling 4,000 tickets the fastest.
Oddsmakers currently have Heartfire valued as the betting favorite at +330 odds, followed by the AfterShocks at +390 odds. Heartfire won this tournament in 2023, beating Bleed Green 78-73. Best Virginia is currently the biggest longshot at +1000 odds.

The Basketball Tournament (TBT) Odds
Aftershocks (+170)
The Aftershocks are an alumni group of former Wichita State University basketball players. They haven't won a TBT tournament since entering in 2019, although they've been competitive in multiple attempts, including a Semifinal appearance.
After two blowout wins in Round 1 and Round 2, the 2 seed in the Wichita region narrowly beat Forever Coogs (Houston Alumni) 66-63 in Round 3. The Aftershocks took down their regional 1 seed, despite playing in their home town, to advance to their Quarterfinal matchup against Heartfire.
Worth noting the Aftershocks rank 26th in points per game (75.0) and 27th in field goal percentage (43.3) through three games in 2025. Beyond the arc, this team ranks 32nd, averaging 30.4 percent from three-point range.
Eberlein Drive (+390)
Eberlein Drive has made it to the TBT Championship Game before. It's a veteran group that has played in every edition of this tournament since its inception in 2014.
In 2025, Eberlein Drive is averaging 79.3 points per game, 13th best in the 2025 TBT tournament. PG Gabe York is the primary scorer, with depth at other positions, including three other starters averaging at least 10 points per game.
Round 3 saw Eberlein Drive outlast La Familia (Kentucky Alumni) by one point, winning 71-70 over the Lexington regional 1 seed. They Drive head into a Monday primetime tilt against Louisville 4 seed Sideline Cancer, who knocked off 1 seed The Ville (Louisville Alumni) 73-63 in Round 2.

Shell Shock (+700)
James Madison regional 2 seed Shell Shock barely survived its first two opponents. Then, they recorded their biggest win in Round 3 against 5 seed NXT Era Elite. They've begun to heat up ahead of Monday's early Quarterfinals tip against 3 seed Best Virginia.
Shell Shock is 28th in points per game (74.7) and 16th for three-point percentage (36.8%) through three games played. SG Ronald March leads the team in points per game (17.0) with C Diamond Stone and SG Darryl Morsell also averaging at least 13 points per game to generate production.
There's certainly value on Shell Shock to win the 2025 TBT Tournament at +700 odds. They won the first two matchups by a combined four points, then beat NXT Era Elite by a margin of six points. They draw a winnable matchup against Best Virginia in the Quarterfinals, who are the biggest underdog to win this year at +1000 odds.
