March Madness Bubble Watch & Bracketology, Will Arkansas, Texas, Indiana Make NCAA Tournament?

The vast majority of teams only have 3 or four games remaining in this NCAAB regular season, so it's put up or shut up time for any squad on the bubble. With a few Quad 1 and Quad 2 matchups left on the schedule, it's critical to build your case now, instead of waiting for a poor showing in the conference tournament and leaving your fate to the selection committe.

Texas, Arkansas, and Indiana are a couple of these brand-name teams on the bubble, some struggling with coaching changes as they attempt to revamp their programs. According to the latest Odds to Make the NCAA Tournament, Indiana is a toss-up to make it at FanDuel Sportsbook, while Razorbacks and Longhorns are a slight favorite to find their way in. Let's look at their remaining paths to the Field of 68 and the latest Bubble Watch Odds.

March Madness Bubble Watch

1. Arkansas To Make the NCAA Tournament -270 Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

Arkansas is finally starting to dig in here down the stretch, something we discussed was a necessity for them last week. They went to the wire with No. 1 Auburn, nearly pulling the upset down in the Jungle and coming up just short last week. While almost doesn't count in College Basketball the way it does in the CFP Playoff race, it still helped build confidence for the team.

They took that back home and outlasted a red-hot top-15 Missouri team on Saturday night. It was a critical Quad 1 that helped rebuild their weak resume, and now they have heavy odds to make it at -270, rising rapidly from last week's -110.

Estimated odds of remaining games:

  • 2/26: -3.5 vs. Texas (Quad 2)
  • 3/1: -2.5 at South Carolina (Quad 2)
  • 3/4: -4.5 at Vanderbilt (Quad 1)
  • 3/8: -1.5 vs. Mississippi State (Quad 1)

If the Hogs split these four games, elevated by the strong caliber of the SEC, they should be more than fine. The current Bracketology has them in the Last Four In, but recent success should continue to grow their spot. They are trending positively at the right time of the year, and it should pay off for them in a few weeks as long as they don't fall apart.

2. Texas To Make the NCAA Tournament -132 Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

The Texas Longhorns will be taking on those aforementioned Razorbacks tonight as a slight underdog on the road. They are moving in the wrong direction right now, dropping an unfortunate game to South Carolina by 15 points over the weekend. Texas has lost four of their last five games, and their only saving grace is a win over a ranked Kentucky team, albeit one that was battling several key injuries at the time. They already lost to Arkansas a few weeks ago at home, and will need a different result tonight to try and control their own destiny.

Despite the recent slide, ESPN Bracketology currently has the Longhorns as one of the last eight teams in the field, narrowly avoiding the First Four games and sliding in as an 11 seed.

Estimated odds of remaining games:

  • 2/26: +3.5 at Arkansas (Quad 1)
  • 3/1: -2.5 vs. Georgia (Quad 2)
  • 3/4: +4.5 at Mississippi State (Quad 1)
  • 3/8: -3 vs. Oklahoma (Quad 2)

With the strongly-weighted contests left on the board for them, they should slide in with a 2-2 record here. The toughest scenario will be if they only win the Quad 2 games and drop both of the Quad 1's. And if they lose three of the four, they will be in deep trouble, requiring assistance via several SEC tournament wins. This won't be an easy last two weeks for Texas by any means, but it's time to play themselves into March Madness if they want to be there.
