Big Ten Tournament Odds: Can Anyone Stop Yaxel Lendeborg, Wolverines in Chicago?

The 2026 Big Ten Tournament tips off March 10 and runs through championship weekend with one clear storyline: Michigan is the team to beat. Dusty May’s Wolverines have dominated the conference all season, losing just twice all year in close games against Wisconsin and Duke. With elite efficiency on both ends of the floor and a deep roster led by Yaxel Lendeborg, Elliot Cadeau, and Morez Johnson, Michigan enters the tournament as the clear favorite at +105.

The Wolverines have crushed ranked opponents throughout Big Ten play and appear built for another deep postseason run. However, the Big Ten remains one of the most competitive leagues in college basketball. Teams like Illinois, Michigan State, Purdue, Nebraska, and Wisconsin all have the talent to make a serious run if things break their way. With nine teams projected to make the NCAA Tournament, the conference tournament should once again be packed with high-level matchups.

Big Ten Tournament Odds Breakdown

Michigan Wolverines (+105) Click here to see these best odds at FanDuel Sportsbook

Michigan enters the tournament as the clear favorite and arguably the most complete team in the conference. The Wolverines boast elite efficiency numbers on both offense and defense and have consistently overwhelmed top competition throughout the season.

The centerpiece is Yaxel Lendeborg, who has emerged as one of the most dominant players in college basketball. Combined with playmaking from Elliot Cadeau, interior strength from Morez Johnson, and depth across the roster, Michigan has few weaknesses.

The Wolverines could face Illinois in the semifinals, which may be their toughest challenge before the championship. Still, Michigan has beaten nearly every contender in the conference already, making them the clear team to beat.

Illinois Fighting Illini (+425) Click here to see these best odds at FanDuel Sportsbook

Illinois enters the tournament as the second betting choice and one of the most dangerous offensive teams in the country. The Illini currently rank No. 1 nationally in offensive efficiency, capable of overwhelming opponents with perimeter shooting and efficient scoring inside.

Guards Keaton Wagler and Kylan Boswell anchor the offense, and Illinois rarely turns the ball over while consistently generating high-quality looks.

The Illini’s biggest hurdle could come in a potential semifinal clash with Michigan, but if their offense heats up they have the firepower to challenge the Wolverines.

Michigan State Spartans (+650) Click here to see these best odds at DraftKings Sportsbook

Michigan State may offer the most interesting value on the board thanks to their bracket positioning.

The Spartans avoid Michigan and Illinois until the championship game and have a favorable path early in the tournament. They could face UCLA first, followed by a likely matchup with Purdue or Nebraska, teams Michigan State has shown it can compete with.

Even if they may not be the second-best team in the conference on paper, the Spartans’ +650 odds combined with a favorable path make them a compelling contender.

Purdue Boilermakers (+800) Click here to see these best odds at DraftKings Sportsbook

Purdue enters as one of the conference’s most dangerous teams despite sitting behind Michigan and Illinois in the odds.

The Boilermakers have shown flashes of elite play throughout the season and have already demonstrated they can compete with top Big Ten teams. Their potential path likely includes a matchup with Michigan State before reaching the later rounds.

If Purdue’s offense finds consistency and they control the glass, they could absolutely play spoiler and reach the championship game. They have great veteran leadership with Braden Smith and Fletcher Loyer, who know how to go deep in tournaments. Their odds are just lower here having to play an extra game as a 7-seed.

Nebraska Cornhuskers (+1200) Click here to see these best odds at BetMGM Sportsbook

Nebraska has been one of the conference’s biggest surprises this season after starting the year 20-0. However, the Cornhuskers cooled slightly down the stretch, finishing the regular season 6-5.

They still remain a dangerous team thanks to their balanced offense and strong guard play. Nebraska also benefits from being in the bottom half of the bracket, avoiding Michigan and Illinois until the championship.

Still, the path is far from easy. A potential stretch against Purdue and Michigan State would be extremely difficult before even reaching the final. Nebraska beat the teams they were supposed to beat this year, but often struggled against high level competition and on the road, which makes this Big Ten Tournament run challenging.

Wisconsin Badgers (+3000) Click here to see these best odds at Caesars Sportsbook

Wisconsin represents one of the most intriguing dark horse candidates in the field.

Since mid-January the Badgers have been one of the best offensive teams in the country, ranking near the top nationally in offensive efficiency during that stretch. Their perimeter-heavy offense, led by Nick Boyd and John Blackwell, allows them to compete with anyone if the shots are falling.

Wisconsin already proved it can beat elite competition with a road win over Michigan earlier this season, meaning the Badgers won’t be intimidated if they face the Wolverines again.

Who Has the Best Path to Big Ten Title?

Michigan sits atop the odds board for good reason. The Wolverines have dominated the Big Ten all season and possess the talent and depth to win the conference tournament again.

However, the bracket still leaves room for intrigue. Illinois could provide the toughest semifinal test, while Michigan State’s favorable path may give the Spartans a realistic shot to reach the championship.

With several national contenders and one desperate bubble team in Indiana fighting for survival, the 2026 Big Ten Tournament promises to be one of the most competitive and entertaining conference tournaments of March Madness season.

Bubble Watch: Indiana

While most of the Big Ten teams are safely in the NCAA Tournament field, Indiana remains the conference’s lone true bubble team.

The Hoosiers have struggled late in the season, losing five of their last six games, which dropped them to the No. 10 seed in the tournament. Indiana will open Wednesday night against the winner of Northwestern vs. Penn State.

Indiana crushed Penn State by more than 30 points earlier this season but recently lost to Northwestern by four, making that matchup particularly intriguing.

Even if the Hoosiers win their opener, a difficult challenge awaits: a rivalry matchup with Purdue on Thursday. Indiana split the season series with the Boilermakers, winning one meeting but losing the rematch by 30 points.

With +200 odds to make the NCAA Tournament, Indiana likely needs at least two wins in the Big Ten Tournament to feel comfortable about their chances. Otherwise, they will be sweating out Selection Sunday.
