Auburn sits squarely on the bubble despite a 16-15 record and 7-11 mark in SEC play. The Tigers boast the No. 1 strength of schedule in the country, which has kept them in the conversation despite a disappointing season. Auburn opens the tournament as a -7.5 favorite against Mississippi State, but would likely need at least two wins to seriously strengthen its NCAA Tournament case. A potential second-round matchup against Tennessee makes that path extremely difficult.
Missouri and Texas currently sit on the safer side of the bubble and are projected as Last Four Byes in most bracket projections. Missouri will face the winner of Kentucky vs. LSU, while Texas opens Wednesday night as a -6.5 favorite against Ole Miss. Both teams likely remain in the field even with an early loss, but advancing deeper into the tournament would remove any remaining uncertainty.
Oklahoma, meanwhile, sits among the Next Four Out and faces the toughest climb of the group. The Sooners are -7.5 favorites against South Carolina in their opener, but realistically need three wins to get serious consideration for the NCAA Tournament. That would require victories over South Carolina, Texas A&M, and Arkansas, an extremely difficult path.
