Gervonta Davis to Split From Floyd Mayweather Jr.: Tank Says This Fight is Final With Mayweather Promotions

If you've been following the career of Gervonta "Tank" Davis, you know just how special of a talent he is. You also know that his recent rise to stardom has a lot to do with the promotion and treatment he's received from Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Mayweather Promotions.

For a while, most assumed all was well between Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather Jr. But, recent Twitter posts and interviews from Tank have led fight fans to believe otherwise. In fact, it appears that this Saturday's fight against Rolando Romero will be his last under Mayweather Promotions.

In a recent tweet, Gervonta Davis even went as far as to say that the only reason he's fighting Rolando Romero, another fighter under Mayweather Promotions, is because this is the final fight on Tank's Mayweather deal and they're looking to push two of their fighters out for a massive payday.

“My contract is up, that's why they want me to fight this clown so bad," Davis said.

In another recently deleted tweet, Davis said "[Mayweather] had a press conference today and a fight on the same day..no matter how much money you have you can still be jealous of a mf!"

But, despite the apparent bad blood on Davis' side, Mayweather has always been publically supportive of Tank. Recently, he said he acknowledges that Davis has to do what is best for his family, even if it means leaving Mayweather Promotions.
