Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva Fighter Records and Fight History
There is just one fight that the fight community and social media are buzzing about as we enter what appears to be a hectic weekend. Jake "The Problem Child" Paul (5-0), a former internet celebrity who turned pro, will defend his unbeaten record against MMA icon Anderson "Spider" Silva (3-1). LeVeon Bell, a former football running back, will also be on the fight card, which is presented by Showtime and broadcast live from Glendale, Arizona's Gila River Arena.
Although Silva is a legend in combat sports, this bout will take place in a squared circle rather than an octagon, and he is 47 years old, well past his fighting prime. Will he have what it takes to handle Paul who is more than 20 years his junior?

After issues caused Paul to have to cancel fights against both Tommy Fury and Hasim Raham over the summer, he’ll finally get his chance to return to the ring to take on Silva. A perfect 5-0 in the professional ranks, this will be Paul’s fourth straight fight against a former UFC fighter, and likely his toughest to date.

Silva has only been in four past professional boxing bouts, but he enters this one with momentum from his two fights from the previous year, both wins. In June 2021, Silva earned a decision victory over former champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (53-6-1), but more importantly, he displayed actual boxing prowess by roughhousing the legendary boxer's son.
Three months later, Silva knocked out Tito Ortiz in the opening round, destroying another MMA great. That victory, Silva's second straight triumph, put him in a good position to land a huge novelty fight in the future. Silva is not a top-tier boxer, but even if he is competing outside of his natural sport of mixed martial arts, Silva has enough strength and talent to avoid embarrassing himself in the ring. With the fights from last year, Silva is more at ease with the sweet science, which nevertheless presents a threat to the "Problem Child" at the advanced age of 47.
