A pair of losses at lightweight to champion Islam Makhachev have largely defined Volkanovski’s last two years. With a win against interim champion Yair Rodriguez in between losses, Volkanovski will look to return to the division that made him with yet another title defense less than four months removed from being KO’d by Islam.

At just 27 years old, Topuria has quickly ascended the ranks of the featherweight division, picking up six straight wins to start his UFC career including five inside the distance. Though this will decidedly be a step up in competition, Topuria is not just red hot but one of the most confident fighters on the planet.
