UFC 304: Tom Aspinall vs. Curtis Blaydes Odds, Date, How to Watch, and Predictions for UFC 304

A massive UFC PPV is quickly approaching from Manchester, England, as UFC 304 offers two title fights at the top of the billing. While the welterweight strap will be on the line in the main event, there is an interim heavyweight title fight between Tom Aspinall and Curtis Blaydes in the co-main event.

With Jon Jones still holding the undisputed heavyweight belt, Aspinall is considered by some to be the best heavyweight in the promotion. Can Aspinall hang on to the interim heavyweight belt and take one step closer to a shot at Jones? Let’s take a closer look at this heavyweight showdown.

Tom Aspinall vs. Curtis Blaydes UFC 304 Prediction

Tom Aspinall (14-3-0)

The future of the heavyweight division was supposed to take a step forward at UFC 295 before Jones suffered a pectoral injury to postpone his fight against Stipe Miocic to November. In his palace, Aspinall stepped in on short notice to take on Serge Pavlopvich, with Aspinall taking the fight just minutes into the fight. With the win, Aspinall became the second heavyweight fighter to claim the interim belt in the past two years, as the UFC has let Jones keep the full belt despite his inactivity.

Curtis Blaydes (18-4-0)

After years of fighting the best in the heavyweight division, Blaydes will finally get his shot at a title and will look to lean on his wrestling if the spot presents itself. The last we saw him was at UFC 299, losing the first round to Jailton Almeida before turning things around in the second. As Almeida shot for a takedown, Blaydes caught him, ending the fight via TKO in the second round to set up this clash.

Tom Aspinall vs. Curtis Blaydes Pick

Coming into this fight, Aspinall has won 80% of his fights on the feet, and largely taken advantage of lesser experienced guys. He draws a different level of fighter in this one in Blaydes, who should have the fight IQ to avoid a large shot. A world-class wrestler, I think Blaydes can keep this fight going into the second round, which levels the playing field closer to even. While I lean Aspinall, I love the value Blaydes provides at this prize.
