2021 Oscars Odds: Nomadland The Massive Favorite for Best Picture

Hollywood’s big night is finally here. Tonight, the 93rd Academy Awards will be on full display and one of the most sought after Oscars, the Best Picture, will no doubt be the talk of the town.

This year feels different for a number of reasons, so it’s tough to keep track of some of the 2021 Oscar odds.

It’s been hard for some viewers to see movies this past year with theaters closed due to COVID-19 and movies being released via different streaming platforms.

Still, we have eight different films in contention for the 2021 Best Picture award, but both oddsmakers and the betting public have tabbed Nomadland as the overwhelming favorite ahead of Sunday’s Oscars.

2021 Oscars Best Picture Odds

Oddsmakers around the country aren’t giving any films other than Nomadland a real chance in the Best Picture category, so any other result would be a massive upset. As of Sunday morning, Nomadland is -600 to win the 2021 Oscar for Best Picture. Those odds imply a 85.7% chance of victory.

If a film was going to pull off the upset, it looks like The Trial of the Chicago 7 would be the one to do it. Right now, you can get the film at +600 to win Best Picture at tonight’s Oscars. But, for comparison, those odds have an implied probability of 14.3%.

Those are the only two films that really have a chance to win Best Picture, according to the 2021 Oscar odds. Minari is next up at +1400, but that’s even more unlikely to win.
