College Football Power Rankings: Ranking the Top-10 Teams Following Week 9
College Football Power Rankings: Ranking the Top-10 Teams Following Week 9
We're headed to Week 10 of the College Football season. We've got a lot to sort out heading into Week 10.
The SEC is up for grabs, with LSU facing off against Alabama for the SEC West. In the SEC East, the Georgia Bulldogs will face the Tennessee Volunteers, who destroyed Kentucky last week.
Meanwhile, the Big Ten is filled with boring games in Week 10, but a random upset could change the entire landscape of the conference.
Here are our top-10 power rankings for College Football for Week 10.

1. Georgia Bulldogs
The Georgia Bulldogs are undefeated and had a massive win against Oregon earlier in the year. A win against Tennessee next week would that Georgia deserves the number one spot in these rankings.
They're coming off a 22-point win against Florida in a rivalry matchup in Jacksonville and have held their previous two SEC opponents to 10 points combined.
2. Ohio State Buckeyes
The Ohio State Buckeyes beat Penn State, 44-31, on the road. The game was probably closer than it seemed, but the Buckeyes' defense showed up in big spots to help lead them to a victory.
Ohio State will be at the top until they face Michigan in the season's final week.
3. Tennessee Volunteers
If Tennessee earns a win against Georgia, it'll likely finish the regular season undefeated with Missouri, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt on deck.
Tennessee has dominated multiple ranked teams like LSU and Kentucky and has a win against Alabama.
If Tennessee wins Saturday, they're moving up to the top spot.
4. Michigan Wolverines
Michigan was in a weird spot in Week 9, facing the Michigan State Spartans. This game could've been chaotic. Michigan needed to be mentally prepared for this rivalry.
They were. They won 29-7 and have a game against Rutgers next week. They'll be in the top four for a bit longer.
5. Clemson Tigers
The Clemson Tigers had a bye week in Week 9. But now they'll take on a Notre Dame team that just knocked off Syracuse on the road.
Clemson is undefeated, but if I'm a Clemson fan, I'd be a bit nervous heading into this road matchup against Notre Dame.
6. TCU Horned Frogs
TCU's undefeated. Alabama isn't.
The Horned Frogs just escaped West Virginia, 41-31, and have ranked wins against Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Kansas, and Oklahoma. The Horned Frogs still have Texas Tech, Texas, Baylor, and Iowa State on the schedule. But if they stay undefeated and win the Big 12, they will earn a College Football Playoff bid.
7. Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama was on a bye-week in Week 9 but previously dominated Mississippi State 30-6. The Crimson Tide almost lost to Texas and Texas A&M. They escaped both of those games and won.
But those games prove that Alabama is beatable. It will be a wild night in Death Valley against LSU this week.
8: USC Trojans
USC has a loss against Utah dating back to a couple of weeks ago. But they just added a road win against Arizona. The offense is incredibly talented, but the defense hasn't been good enough.
Even if USC wins the Pac-12, I'm not sure they'll even enter the College Football Playoff discussion. However, a win against UCLA would help their case down the line.
9. Ole Miss Rebels
The Rebels just knocked off Texas A&M on the road. I know A&M hasn't played to the level-up expectations. But a road win against an A&M program that needed a win is impressive.
Ole Miss has one loss on the year. They're still a top-10 team right now. That might change against Alabama in a couple of weeks. But for now, they're here.
10. UCLA Bruins
UCLA and Utah would be the two teams fighting for the 10-spot. UCLA beat Utah in early October with a 42-32 win. So the Bruins get the final spot in the Top 10.
Oklahoma State, Wake Forest, Penn State, and Syracuse have all dropped out of contention. Kansas State, Illinois, LSU, and Utah would've been the following four teams in the rankings.
