Unfortunately for Oregon vs. North Carolina odds and viewers, this one could get ugly on Wednesday night.
On paper, these two teams seem relatively even. However, it's the Oregon vs. North Carolina opt-outs that have the odds rather lopsided as we head into the game.
Oregon is trying to close out a successful year that saw them come one game shy of the Pac-12 title game in Dan Lanning's first year as the head coach of the Ducks. QB Bo Nix is not only playing in the Holiday Bowl, but he's back for 2023 as well. He also has all his weapons in this one which is why they come in as a massive favorite.
As for UNC, it's going to be a mixed bag. On the one hand, this is a North Carolina team that features next year's Heisman hopeful Drake Maye. The freshman threw for 4,115 yards, 35 TDs and rushed for 653 more yards.
On the other hand, North Carolina is coming off a thumping at the hands of Clemson and their leading receiver, Josh Downs, has opted out to prepare for the NFL Draft. Without his leading receiver, how effective will Maye be?
Let's take a look at North Carolina vs. Oregon opt-outs, odds and predictions for tonight's Holiday Bowl.

Oregon vs. North Carolina odds are a bit more lopsided than most would probably expect as we see these two 9-win teams meeting in the Holiday Bowl. But, we're greeted with a huge 13-point spread as we get ready for this one.
Oregon has become a huge favorite in the lead-up to this game and Oregon vs. North Carolina odds aren't giving the Tar Heels much of a chance to compete. Not only is Oregon a 13-point favorite, but their -500 odds give them an implied probability of winning just north of 83%.
A lot of this has to do with North Carolina playing without Josh Downs, who has decided to opt-out. It's going to be up to Drake Maye to keep UNC in this one, but they're spotting him almost two touchdowns.
Oregon vs. North Carolina Prediction
My Oregon vs. North Carolina prediction was a tough one to come up with. I'm pretty high on Oregon and Bo Nix and the Ducks this season. But, 13 points is too much for them to be spotting the Tar Heels. Oregon's last win by 13 or more came on November 5 against Colorado. I know North Carolina will be missing their leading receiver but 13 points is too many to be spotting Drake Maye. Antoine Green will still be playing for the Tar Heels and I think they have just enough firepower to keep it within a possession.
