The time has finally come for the College Football Playoff Semifinal showdown between the Michigan Wolverines and the TCU Horned Frogs. Both teams have been waiting close to a month to play this one, so you can expect a good one. Another thing you can expect, which is a rarity in bowl season, is that there will be no TCU vs. Michigan opt-outs since both teams are vying for a spot in the championship and the NFL Draft takes a back seat for that.
Michigan vs. TCU odds are interesting, as you can see above. TCU was a machine all season long, dominating the Big 12 on their way to the best record in the conference during the regular season. However, they ran into a buzzsaw in Kansas State in the conference championship game and lost their first game of the season.
As for Michigan, the team that couldn't beat rival Ohio State has now done just that in back-to-back seasons. This Michigan squad looks to make up for last year's team that made it exactly this far and lost to eventual champ Georgia, 34-11.
If Michigan is going to beat TCU they're going to have to do it without their best player and former Heisman hopeful, Blake Corum. Corum went down late in the year with a knee injury and will miss the remainder of the year.
On the other hand, TCU comes in with no notable injuries. QB Max Duggan leads the way for the Horned Frogs as they look to finish the season in a place no one could have predicted in August: The National Championship.
But, the big question here is how do you bet the Fiesta Bowl? Are there going to be TCU vs. Michigan opt-outs? Who do the TCU vs. Michigan odds favor? Luckily for you, we're here to break that all down before Saturday's kick-off.

When Michigan vs. TCU odds were first released following the conference championship games, I was a bit shocked to see the line.
Sure, I expected Michigan to be favored. After all, they have the more talented roster and play in a far superior conference. But I'm not sure I expected to see the point spread north of a touchdown in the CFP semifinal between these two.
Michigan has been a machine all season long, running through teams with 3,159 rushing yards and 38 rushing TDs on the year. Not to mention they average 5.6 yards per carry as a team. But, they can't possibly make up for the production they lost from Blake Corum's injury, right? Wrong.
I think the main reason the TCU vs. Michigan odds have Michigan as a 7.5-point favorite at the Fiesta Bowl is Donovan Edwards. Edwards was a fantastic runner even when Corum was in the lineup. However, he's completely taken over since Corum went down.
He carried the ball 22 times for 216 yards in the win against Ohio State and followed that up with a 25-carry,185-yard performance in the Big Ten Championship.
If TCU is going to pull off the upset over Michigan, it starts with stopping Edwards.
Speaking of the Horned Frogs, they have their own weapons on the offensive side that are keeping the Michigan defensive staff up at night.
QB Max Duggan is one of the best stories of the season and ended up finishing second in Heisman voting this year. But, it's WR Quentin Johnston that is the biggest difference maker. Michigan is going to need to stop Johnston, who will likely be a top-15 pick come this year's NFL Draft.
Despite that, TCU vs, Michigan odds have TCU as a 7.5-point underdog and give them +255 moneyline odds. At +255, their implied probability of winning is just 28.2%
TCU vs. Michigan Prediction
I like this Michigan team. I think they are firmly the second-best college football team in the nation (behind Georgia). But, 7.5 points is too much for me to lay when a team as good as TCU is lining up on the other side. Max Duggan has been fantastic this season and will keep his team in this one. Michigan moves on, but my TCU vs. Michigan prediction is that the Horned Frogs hang around all game and lose by less than a TD.
