Once again, TCU enters this contest as huge underdogs. Oddsmakers are predicting this to be a blowout win, with Georgia being -13.5 favorites. Will TCU come in and shock everyone once again?

Georgia rightfully earned the No. 1 title this year as they had the most impressive season. Entering this game with a 14-0 record, the Dawgs absolutely dominated their 2022 campaign. After winning their first National Championship Title since 1980, the Bulldogs came into 2022 riding that high. Georgia opened their 2022 season with a 49-3 win over Oregon and that's where the fun began.

After destroying rival Auburn 42-10, the Dawgs ended Tennessee's perfect record, then scored 50 points on LSU in the SEC Championship Game, and ultimately put up a flawless 2022 campaign. Georgia is rightfully huge favorites in this game as it should be an easy win for the Bulldogs. Huge emphasis on the should, as Michigan should have beat TCU in the semis.

TCU went 5-7 last year and man have they turned it around. After firing longtime coach Gary Patterson, the Frogs ended up with a 13-1 record through the 2022 campaign. The star signal-caller for the Frogs began this year as the backup to Chandler Morris as he dealt with an injury. No one would have thought he would put up the numbers he did, he has to give thanks to his teammates.

Where the Frogs shocked everyone was their semifinal win over Michigan where their offense destroyed Michigan's top-ranked defense. Even more so than their offense, TCU's defense is what led them to be in the National Championship with two pick-sixes. But will we see that same type of defense on Georgia's absurdly talented offense?

Georgia vs. TCU Prediction

Georgia is the No. 1 team in the nation for a reason and deserves to be in the National Championship game. It's not to say that TCU doesn't as they dominated Michigan in the semis, but ultimately Georgia is the more talented squad. I wouldn't be surprised if this was another shootout of a matchup and ends up being a high-scoring game.

This is a very large spread for Georgia to cover, and after TCU went and surprised everyone with the upset, I wouldn't put my money on Georgia covering, although I do believe they will end up taking the title again.

Bennett completed 23 of 34 passes for 398 yards, three TDs, and just one interception in Georgia's semifinal win over Ohio State. Max Duggan completed 14 of 29 targets for 225 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in TCU's semifinal win over Michigan. These two teams are filled with offensive weapons and will put on another thrilling playoff game for us. Go with the over.
