3 minCollege Football Bowl Predictions Entering Week 3
It feels like college football has more parity for the first time in a long time. Florida State upset LSU in Week 1, and Texas earned a massive win against Alabama in Week 2. Things are getting interesting. We're only headed into Week 3. A lot will change by the time we get to December. But we'll document all the changes. We'll predict the big bowl games each week after the previous week's results.
College Football Bowl Game Prediction
Rose Bowl (CFB Semifinal)
Michigan Wolverines vs. Florida State Seminoles
This would be the 2. vs. 3. matchup in the CFP Semifinals. The Florida State Seminoles already have a significant win against, at the time, No. 5 LSU. But they'll face Clemson on September 23rd. A win against Clemson would improve their chances of making a College Football Playoff Bid. On the other hand, Michigan doesn't have a scary game until maybe October 21 against Michigan State. But with Mel Tucker no longer with the program, Michigan's first significant game would be against Penn State on the road in November. They'll be projected to be No. 2 in the CFP until at least November 11.
Sugar Bowl (CFB Semifinal)
Georgia Bulldogs vs. Texas Longhorns
The Bulldogs have one of the easiest schedules in football. It's unlikely that they lose a game until maybe the SEC Championship. Georgia will be looking for its third straight CFP Championship. Meanwhile, the Texas Longhorns just knocked off Alabama behind a Heisman-like performance from Quinn Ewers. Alabama was overall the better team. At this point, it seems likely that Texas will win the Big 12.

Cotton Bowl
USC Trojans vs. Alabama Crimson Tide
This game would be hype! Alabama probably can't lose again unless it's to Georgia in the SEC Championship game. Meanwhile, USC could go undefeated and still miss out on the CFP if Georgia, Michigan, Florida State, and Texas all stay undefeated throughout the season.
Peach Bowl
Tennessee Volunteers vs. Miami Hurricanes
After Georgia, the SEC is wide open right now. Alabama and LSU lost games in the first two weeks of the season. Meanwhile, Tennessee's win against Austin Peay wasn't very promising. It also took some time for Ole Miss to get past Tulane, who were without their starting quarterback. For now, Tennessee's the next-best team in the SEC. Meanwhile, Miami's win against Texas A&M has me high on the Hurricanes. I thought Tyler Van Dyke looked the best he's ever looked with Miami.
Orange Bowl
Duke Blue Devils vs. Ohio State Buckeyes
You can pick the Duke Blue Devils or North Carolina Tar Heels for this game. After Duke's upset over Clemson and North Carolina's near loss to Appalachian State, I'll take Duke to play in this game. Michigan would be in the CFP. Therefore, Ohio State would play in the Orange Bowl as the second-best Big Ten team.
Fiesta Bowl
Penn State Nittany Lions vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
You can pick between Notre Dame and Washington. Whoever has a better season would get Penn State, who would be the third-best Big Ten team. Washington plays USC on November 4. If I like USC to win the Pac-12, Washington will likely drop in the rankings when playing in the Pac-12.
