A couple of quarterbacks still made a jump up the odds board. As we approach a fun-filled Week 4 of college football, let's break it down below.

2023 Heisman Odds

The Runner-Up: Michael Penix Jr. (+500) (Bet $100 to collect $600)

Michael Penix Jr. climbed closer to Caleb Williams over the weekend on the odds board. Penix Jr. has been in college football since 2018. So it's no surprise he's finally starting to shine in Washington.

Penix Jr. has thrown for 1,332 yards and 12 touchdowns. He's also got one interception but has a QBR of 94.1, which is the best in the nation.

He also led the Huskies right through Michigan State on the road, with four touchdowns and a QBR of 98.2 yesterday. Pennix used to be a little bit of a runner. But he's now stationary in the pocket and making incredible throws and reads.

Keep an eye out for Pennix Jr. once Pac-12 conference play begins.

The Sleeper: Sam Hartman (+1000) (Bet $100 to collect $1,100)

It pays to be an old veteran in college football! All of the six-year seniors are showing out!

All jokes aside, Hartman has thrown 13 touchdowns in four games and doesn't have a single interception. For example, he's not throwing the ball as much as Penix Jr. is, but he just added 330 yards on 16 completions against Central Michigan in a 41-17 win.

Notre Dame was always relevant. But Hartman could bring Notre Dame to greater heights this season. He'll have a big test against Ohio State this weekend. If Hartman performs well and pushes Notre Dame over Ohio State, he'll likely be in the Top 3 by next week.

Don't Give Up Hope: Jayden Daniels (+2500) (Bet $100 to collect $2,600)

The LSU loss to Florida State dropped Jayden Daniels from preseason runner-up to below the top 10.

But that was a bit premature. Daniels has thrown for nearly 1,000 yards and has eight touchdowns with only one interception. The fifth-year senior has also rushed for over 150 yards and two more scores on the ground.

In SEC play against Mississippi State, Daniels completed 88.2% of passes against the Bulldogs. He went 30-for-34 and managed to throw for 361 yards. These weren't just dump-off passes and screen passes. Daniels was throwing deep balls down the field.

He was expected to be a finalist in the preseason. He's still going to dominate all season long.
