We learned some things in Week 3 of the college football season. But now, with conference play beginning, we're about to learn a lot more about some teams.
In Week 4, we've got a stacked card. Just look at this:
- (4) Florida State vs. Clemson
- (19) Colorado vs. (10) Oregon
- (22) UCLA vs. (11) Utah
- (15) Ole Miss vs. (13) Alabama
- (14) Oregon State vs. (21) Washington State
- (6) Ohio State vs. (9) Notre Dame
- (24) Iowa vs. (7) Penn State
These games will have playoff implications and change some opinions on which games each team will play when December rolls around.
For now, we'll go off last week's college football results. Here are my predictions for the top bowl games in college football.
College Football Bowl Game Prediction
Rose Bowl (CFB Semifinal)
Michigan Wolverines vs. Florida State Seminoles
The No. 2 vs. No. 3 hasn't changed.
Florida State looked sluggish against Boston College last weekend. But the Seminoles pushed through and got the win.
However, they'll take on Clemson this Saturday, on the road, as -1.5-point favorites. In my article earlier, I suggested taking Clemson at +1.5 and believe Clemson wins outright.
If Florida State loses that game, they'll drop out of the CFP games.
Meanwhile, Michigan has Rutgers on the road. This is a game that Michigan should win convincingly. However, Rutgers has played well against Michigan at times. The spread has dropped a couple of points, but Michigan is still -25, with Jim Harbough expected to return to the sideline.
Sugar Bowl (CFB Semifinal)
Georgia Bulldogs vs. Texas Longhorns
Nobody was blown away by Georgia's win against South Carolina last weekend. But Georgia-South Carolina games always get interesting.
Georgia escaped with a dominant defensive performance in the second half to earn the win at home.
Meanwhile, it also took Texas some time to figure out Wyoming last week. But they also dominated in the second half.

Cotton Bowl
USC Trojans vs. LSU Tigers
USC was on a bye week. They'll stay put in the Cotton Bowl.
However, the Alabama Crimson Tide no longer looks like the second-best SEC team in the nation. That title now belongs to LSU after their encouraging win over Mississippi State on the road.
Therefore, LSU is now my pick to earn a Cotton Bowl invite.
Peach Bowl
Ole Miss Rebels vs. Miami Hurricanes
Ole Miss has a chance to make that Cotton Bowl above with a win against Alabama this Saturday.
Ole Miss has had a lot of injuries on offense. The hope is that Tre Harris and Quinshon Judkins are available for their next game against Alabama. If the Rebels lose to Alabama, they'll likely lose this spot to LSU or Alabama, depending on how everything plays out.
Meanwhile, this year, Miami is a serious contender for a New Year's 6 Bowl. They'll have a lot of work cut out for them. But they've got an easy matchup this weekend. So they'll be stuck in the Peach Bowl for at least another week after this week.
Orange Bowl
Duke Blue Devils vs. Ohio State Buckeyes
Notre Dame will take on Ohio State in a top-ten matchup at home. If Notre Dame wins this game against Ohio State, they'll be slotted into the Orange Bowl, and Ohio State will slip out.
Meanwhile, Duke has UConn coming up next. They'll stick around in the Orange Bowl for another week.
Fiesta Bowl
Penn State Nittany Lions vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
The Notre Dame-Ohio State matchup will help move some teams around for the Fiesta Bowl.
If Notre Dame defeats Ohio State, they'll get into the Orange Bowl, but Ohio State would be the favorite to play in the Fiesta Bowl. They'd take over for Penn State and would likely play the Washington Huskies from the Pac-12.
Let's see what happens!
