We rarely see a lot of movement in the college football rankings in the middle of September.
But after a handful of Top-25 matchups and many intriguing games, there will be a lot of new teams in the Top 25 and plenty of teams that have fallen down the rankings.
Let's talk about it.
College Football Week 5 Top 25 Power Rankings
1. Georgia
Georgia has one of the easiest schedules in college football. It won't backfire anytime soon. But when the SEC Championship rolls around, they might not be ready.
For now, the Bulldogs remain undefeated. They're also the reigning and defending champions.
2. Michigan
Michigan hasn't looked great. But they've used second-half performances to will themselves past their mediocre opponents.
Still, they're undefeated and won't have a real test next week with Nebraska on the menu. Michigan will be hanging out in the top two this week and next week.
3. Florida State
Clemson outplayed Florida State. Yet, the Seminoles found a way to beat Clemson on the road in overtime.
Florida State has now had back-to-back close calls. They can't continue to live on the edge like this if they want a chance at the CFP.
4. Texas
Texas earned a dominating win against Baylor on the road. They're now in the Top 4 after that road win.
5. Ohio State
The Buckeyes struggled offensively and needed a lot of things to go their way over the last couple of minutes against Notre Dame.
The Buckeyes scored with one second to go to beat the Fighting Irish. But Kyle McCord almost threw an interception and didn't play his best.
I'd still be worried as an Ohio State fan. But a win over Notre Dame on the resume helped them to be No. 5 in the rankings.
6. USC
USC's offense will be fine. But they allowed 28 to Arizona State? This defense likely isn't good enough against top-tier opponents. Just watch last year's game against Tulane. USC dropped a couple of spots after their win.
7. Washington
Washington put up 59 points on California. But the defense also gave up over 30 points to California. They've got plenty of things to work on for next weekend.
8. Penn State
Penn State's dominant win against Iowa was impressive. But I don't want to get ahead of ourselves. Still, a 31-0 win over a ranked opponent will only help Penn State in the rankings.
9. LSU
LSU didn't have it easy against Arkansas. The defense looks like Swiss cheese in the secondary. But Jayden Daniels pushed the offense to victory with another outstanding performance in the second half.
10. Oregon
Oregon quieted down the Colorado hype with an impressive performance against the Buffaloes. They're a top-ten team now.
11. Utah
12. Alabama
13. Notre Dame
The whole point of adding Sam Hartman to the roster was adding a top-level quarterback you can trust in big spots.
Hartman was just 17-of-25 for 175 yards against Ohio State.
The Fighting Irish ran the ball 39 times and had 25 passing attempts. Inexcusable.
14. Oklahoma
15. Duke
Can Duke rise the rankings with a win against Notre Dame next weekend at home? It's possible.
16. Miami
17. North Carolina
18. Tennessee
19. Washington State
We're sleeping in Washington State. That offense made Oregon State's defense look horrible. But the Beavers have one of the best defenses in the nation. I see you, Washington State!
20. Ole Miss
21. Florida
22. Oregon State
23. Kansas State
24. Missouri
25. TCU
Welcome back to the top 25, TCU!
