We had a lot of intriguing upsets and exciting games last weekend in college football. As we head into Week 8 of the college football season, here's what the bowl season looks like in my eyes.
College Football Bowl Game Prediction
Rose Bowl (CFB Semifinal)
Michigan Wolverines vs. Florida State Seminoles
The Michigan Wolverines took care of business against Indiana. They'll get a rivalry matchup against Michigan State, where they're 25-point favorites. Meanwhile, Florida State just played its best game this season. Now they'll take on Duke at home as 14-point favorites. I don't think Florida State is a 14-point favorite against the Blue Devils, but a win against Duke would certainly keep them in the CFP race.
Sugar Bowl (CFB Semifinal)
Georgia Bulldogs vs. Ohio State Buckeyes
Georgia escaped Vanderbilt easily. They'll be off this week. So there won't be any movement for Georgia heading into next weekend. On the other hand, Ohio State has a home date against the Penn State Nittany Lions. This is a crucial Big Ten matchup and will have College Football Playoff implications as well. The Buckeyes are favored by 4.5 points heading into this game.

Cotton Bowl
Washington Huskies vs. Oklahoma Sooners
Wouldn't this be a fun game? Washington's Michael Penix Jr. is the Heisman favorite heading into Week 8 after helping the Huskies earn a home win against Oregon. Meanwhile, Oklahoma didn't play last weekend. But let's not forget about the Sooners' win over Texas last weekend behind Dillon Gabriel. These two teams are undefeated. But if Ohio State loses, one of these teams could be in the College Football Playoff heading into Week 9.
Peach Bowl
Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Oregon Ducks
Alabama and Oregon each have one loss. But as long as Alabama takes care of business against Tennessee and Oregon defeats Washington State at home, this matchup will live for at least another week. Alabama's starting to figure out their team, while Oregon was just a missed field goal away from forcing overtime against Washington. Both teams would be competitive in the College Football Playoff. But each team has one loss that could prevent them from making it.
Orange Bowl
North Carolina Tar Heels vs. Penn State Nittany Lions
North Carolina is still undefeated. They'll have a home game against Virginia, which should only help their chances of making the ACC Championship game. As of now, we've got them matched up with Penn State. But if Penn State earns a win against Ohio State in Week 8, Penn State will move up the board.
Fiesta Bowl
Texas Longhorns vs. Oregon State Beavers
Texas took a loss to Oklahoma last weekend. It stung, but if Texas continues to win moving forward, they'll still have a chance at winning the Big 12 and earning a CFP bid. The Longhorns would play Oregon State, who are 6-1, with the lone loss coming against Washington State. That loss will hurt for a long time, but this team earned a massive win against UCLA. That'll be recognized.
