College Football Bowl Game Predictions: Bowl Game Predictions Entering Week 9 of the Season

College football bowl game predictions as we head into Week 9 of the season. Which teams will we potentially see in bowl games? Jason Radowitz gives us his college football bowl game predictions for the New Year's Six.

College Football Bowl Game Predictions: Bowl Game Predictions Entering Week 9 of the Season

After Week 8, we've been forced to change some of our bowl predictions.

The Penn State Nittany Lions lost to Ohio State, while North Carolina dropped out of the Top 10 after a loss to Virginia at home.

Where do those teams stand now? Will North Carolina even make a New Year's Six Bowl after that embarrassing loss?

Let's talk about it below.

College Football Bowl Game Prediction

Rose Bowl (CFB Semifinal)

Michigan Wolverines vs. Florida State Seminoles

The Final Four hasn't changed.

Michigan destroyed Michigan State on the road, while Florida State earned a solid win over Duke, 38-20.

Florida State will have Wake Forest on deck next. They're a 20-point favorite and should escape that road game easily.

On the other hand, Michigan is on a bye week. They won't lose position this weekend, no matter what.

Sugar Bowl (CFB Semifinal)

Georgia Bulldogs vs. Ohio State Buckeyes

The Georgia Bulldogs didn't play last week. But now they've got a tough matchup on the road against Florida. Statistically, Georgia should escape Florida. But a road game against the Gators is never easy. We'll see how Georgia responds.

Meanwhile, Ohio State earned a win over Penn State. It was an ugly win, but it counted. The defense showed up and kept Ohio State inside the College Football Playoff, at least for now.

Cotton Bowl

Washington Huskies vs. Oklahoma Sooners

The Huskies only defeated Arizona State by eight points in a 15-7 win. But a win is a win. You have to survive and advance. Every team will have tight games against poor opponents. As long as you escape with the win, that'll do.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma just had the same thing happen. The Sooners defeated UCF by two points and got off the field thanks to a two-point conversation stop. Oklahoma won, 31-29, to stay undefeated. They're the Big 12's best team, while Washington's the Pac-12's best.

Peach Bowl

Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Oregon Ducks

Alabama earned a comfortable double-digit win over Tennessee. They'll be on a bye week this weekend but preparing for a matchup against LSU the following weekend.

Meanwhile, Oregon's on the road against Utah. Still, the Ducks are 6.5-point favorites on the road, knowing Utah doesn't have much of an offense without Cam Rising.

A win from Oregon would keep them in a position to play in the Peach Bowl unless Washington loses to Stanford. Then Oregon would move up.

Orange Bowl

Louisville Cardinals vs. Penn State Nittany Lions

We know about Florida State. But who is the second-best team in the ACC?

Right now, I think it's Louisville. Louisville had a brutal loss to Pittsburgh a couple of weeks ago. But it wasn't as bad as North Carolina's loss to Virginia. Plus, Duke has two losses this season. If the Cardinals defeat Duke this weekend, I think it's clear they are the second-best ACC team.

They'd face Penn State (for now). We'll have to see how the Big Ten shapes out. However, if Michigan or Ohio State don't make the CFP, the loser would fall into this spot and knock Penn State out.

Fiesta Bowl

Texas Longhorns vs. Oregon State Beavers

Quinn Ewers is out for Texas with an AC joint injury. He won't play at home against BYU and will likely be held out against Kansas State in the following game. That's not good news for Texas. But if they can find ways to win those Big 12 games, they'll still be projected to play in a New Year's Six Bowl when Ewers returns.

On the other hand, Oregon State is still 6-1 on the season. They're the forgotten Pac-12 team, but they're currently the third-best team in the conference, over Utah and USC. A road win against Arizona won't be easy this weekend. But for now, Oregon State would be playing in a big bowl game this year.
