2023 Heisman Watch
Heisman Favorite Bo Nix (-130) (Bet $130 to collect $230)
Bo Nix isn't campaigning for the Heisman like the other guys. He's also not trying to pad his stats to win the award.
But that's why he might start to earn some more votes.
Nix has thrown for 3,906 yards with 37 touchdowns and two interceptions. His QBR is 91.1, which is second in college football.
Although Nix isn't leading in most categories as a quarterback, he's turned it up a notch over the last month.
Nix has completed over 82% of his passes over the last two weeks and has thrown for over 350 yards in those four games. He's thrown a lot of easier passes. He hasn't dominated with the long ball. But it's been effective nonetheless.
Jayden Daniels Has Played Better (+110) (Bet $100 to collect $210)
Jayden Daniels has had a better season than Joe Burrow's 2019 campaign.
He's thrown for 3,812 yards with 40 touchdowns and four interceptions. However, his QBR of 95.6 is easily the best in the nation.
On top of that, Daniels has rushed for 1,134 yards on the ground and has added another ten touchdowns rushing the football.
Daniels has stats comparable to Nix in the air but has another 1,000 yards rushing on Nix.
While LSU's defense didn't step up this year, Daniels has had a season to remember. He's the best player in college football statistically.
What Should We Expect?
Bo Nix is playing another game on Saturday against the Washington Huskies for the Pac-12 Championship.
If Nix plays well in that game and the Oregon Ducks defeat Washington to win the Pac-12, the argument for Nix to win the Heisman will grow.
If the Ducks lose to Washington, Jayden Daniels would win the Heisman award without question.
Daniels still seems like the frontrunner, despite what oddsmakers have listed. Just by looking at the stats, it's clear that Daniels has performed at a higher level this season.
He's also faced a much more difficult schedule in the SEC.
