5 minTennessee vs. NC State Odds: Tennessee Given 77% Chance to Beat Wolfpack on Saturday Night
NC State is ready to square off with the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday night in one of the first few ranked clashes of the season. The Wolfpack are still holding at 24th after narrowly escaping last week, while the Volunteers are up to 14th in the polls after a dominating victory.
Nico Iamaleava is the talk of this Vols offense, after dropping over 300 yards and three touchdowns in the first half last week. He is now a Heisman hopeful with +1400 odds, and will try to put on a show tonight as the Vols expect to be explosive on the road.
Meanwhile, NC State was on the ropes against Western Carolina entering the fourth quarter, before finally turning on the jets. Grayson McCall transferred in to quarterback this team after Brendan Armstrong graduated, and he will need to put together a full game tonight against this SEC defense if they want to stay close.
Let's check out the latest odds for Tennessee vs. NC State on Saturday night.

Tennessee | -8.5 (-110) | -340 | 60.5 (-110) |
NC State | +8.5 (-110) | +260 | 60.5 (-110) |
NC State comes into this game as a home underdog, and will attempt to pull the upset on their home field against a stacked Tennessee offense.
They are currently saddled with +260 odds on the moneyline, giving the Wolfpack just a 27% chance of victory. The Vols are -340 on the other side, and that line has steadily climbed up all week. After starting at -5.5 on the spread, Tennessee has flown up to -9.5 in some spots.
There is large backing on the Volunteers as seen with the movement and the latest betting splits. 78% of the spread bets are on the Vols, with 80% of the money filling in. Not much action is on the Wolfpack from either a spread or ML standpoint.
Meanwhile on the total, 46% of the bets and a major 78% of the money is backing the over 61.5 in this game. The total has ticked up a bit after opening at 59.5, with bettors expecting a lot of points on Saturday night.
Tennessee vs. NC State Preview
The NC State Wolfpack finished strong in Week 1, but had a horrendous start. They allowed 21 points to the Catamounts, which was the most points Western Carolina ever scored against an FBS team. The Wolfpack were actually losing as a 32-point favorite as they entered the fourth quarter, before going on a three-touchdown spree to pull away.
NC State will try to channel the fourth quarter in this ranked showdown and forget about the first three, because Tennessee is no Western Carolina. NC State had a top-30 scoring defense last year, and will also need that big time against the Volunteers. As we mentioned last week, they lost some stars to the NFL including LB Payton Wilson, and will have to get the young guys to pick up the slack tonight.
The Volunteers arrive with Nico Iamaleava, who already is drawing Heisman talks. He set a school record for yards thrown in the first half last week against Chattanooga, and didn't even play in the second half. The young five-star is in his first season as starter, and has already impressed in his two main appearances dating back to last season's bowl game blowout.
The main matchup to watch is if the Wolfpack defense can find a way to corral Nico Iamaleava and the Vols offense. Josh Heupel's squad dropped over 31 points per game last year, and is already off to a hot start with 69 in game one. The total is high at 60.5 in this matchup, lending to the belief that the Wolfpack are going to have a tough time dealing with Tennessee. Look for some high-flying offense tonight in this one.
