As the college football season kicks off this weekend, many stars have transferred over to new teams. Dillon Gabriel is one of those, joining the Oregon Ducks. But Carson Beck and Quinn Ewers return back to their top-10 teams, looking for revenge after coming up short a year ago.
Let's check out which of these star quarterbacks is currently favored for the Heisman, and who has the best shot to contend with them.

2024 Heisman Watch
Dillon Gabriel (+600) (Bet $100 to collect $700)
Dillon Gabriel will be under center for the Oregon Ducks this year, taking over for superstar Bo Nix.
He has big shoes to fill, with Nix spending most of the season as the Heisman favorite, before trailing off near the end with two poor performances. He was later drafted 12th by the Denver Broncos, and left a vacant spot at quarterback for the Ducks.
Thanks to the transfer portal era, Gabriel seized the opportunity to join a top-flight program, and headed over from Oklahoma in the offseason. He threw for over 3,600 yards and added 30 touchdowns, the highest TD amount on this list.
This isn't his first rodeo either, after starting his career at UCF in 2019 and gaining national recognition. Injuries cut his third season short, and he bounced over to Oklahoma to join Brent Venables' team for two years.
Gabriel knows how to assimilate quickly in a new system, and will hope the surrounding talent at Oregon can bolster him to a Heisman quality season.
Carson Beck (+850) (Bet $100 to collect $950)
The Georgia Bulldogs will bring back Carson Beck at quarterback, who quietly had a prolific season for the Dawgs a year ago.
It was unfortunately overshadowed by an SEC Championship defeat at the hands of Alabama, and a subsequent playoff miss.
Beck put up nearly 4,000 yards and 26 touchdowns as the leader of the former back-to-back National Champs. They are counting on him to avenge last year's rough ending, and return the Dawgs to prominence with another title.
With a strong defense expected again for Georgia, this team is on the fast track to reach the expanded playoff with ease. It is highly unlikely a Heisman winner misses the playoffs, so that will be a predominant factor in the decision this year and will help boost Beck's stock.
The Bulldogs have a 10.5 win total, and are favored to win the SEC at +180 odds. If they can accomplish those feats, Beck will have certainly done his job and should be in contention for the award in New York.
Quinn Ewers (+1400) (Bet $100 to collect $1500)
The Texas Longhorns are thrilled to have Quinn Ewers back for his third season, as he continues to outplay youngster Arch Manning.
Ewers led the Longhorns to the College Football Playoff a year ago, before succumbing to the Washington Huskies in a slight upset. He is back and looking for revenge, and Texas has a strong change to contend in the SEC at +370 odds. Not bad for their first season in the conference.
The junior threw for 3,500 yards and 22 touchdowns, turning in similar but slightly lower numbers than Carson Beck. He has high expectations from fans and boosters to lead this program to success in the SEC, but will face unique matchups that they haven't seen before.
Ewers sits back at +1400 odds, making Gabriel and Beck the only two with under a 10-1 chance to take home the award as the season begins. The odds will obviously fluctuate throughout the year, but it is an interesting litmus test for the oddsmakers expectations out of the star quarterbacks.
