Arch Manning Heisman Odds: Arch Manning Surges Past Quinn Ewers with Five-Touchdown Performance

The Heisman race was turned on its head in a one-hour period on Saturday night. Quinn Ewers was leading with the best odds coming into Week 3 after a strong start, but after going down with an injury, his own teammate Arch Manning had overtaken him.

Manning stepped in for the injured Ewers and led the offense to a 49-point beatdown of UTSA. He accounted for five touchdowns in just three quarters of action, and looked nearly flawless. As a result, he has flown up the Heisman odds, surpassing his own teammate and dozens of other candidates. Will he stay as the starter and take over this race?

Let's check out the latest Heisman trophy odds to see how Arch Manning stacks up in the 2024 race with the top quarterbacks after a surprise showing in Week 3.

Arch Manning Heisman Odds

Texas fans have been waiting for the display that the entire country saw on Saturday night. As Quinn Ewers went out with an abdominal strain, prodigy Arch Manning took the field with a two touchdown lead in the second quarter. He proceeded to blow the doors off of a UTSA squad that didn't have much of a prayer as five-touchdown underdogs in the first place.

Manning created a highlight reel of a performance, running much faster than his famous uncles ever did at QB. In between throwing for four touchdowns all over the field, Arch broke off a 67-yard dash by juking a defender and speeding down the sideline. He has all the tools to be a generational talent, but will need to be tested against stronger opponents.

After the 56-7 blowout victory, Arch Manning flew into the Heisman race from out of nowhere, despite his team's starting quarterback beginning the morning as the favorite at +500 odds. Ewers fell to +1800 immediately after the injury, and was subsequently removed from the leaderboard. Arch was previously at +10,000 odds, highly unexpected to contend for the trophy, especially with the early success of Ewers. But if he starts next week and dominates again, there will be a serious conversation about who continues forward, and how that will affect the odds. He now has the seventh-best odds at +1600, and could redefine the Heisman race in just one week.

The Texas Longhorns will now battle the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks on Saturday, where they are early 45-point favorites. Regardless of which star opens the game at quarterback, they are expected to roll by six or more touchdowns. They won't truly be tested until October 12th in the Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma, so they have time to decide who they want to go with.
