Online sportsbooks have been busy pricing up their predictions for the NFL Draft, and if there’s one thing we can learn from other countries, the books are rarely wrong.
FanDuel currently has Isaiah Simmons as the favorite to be the first draft pick made by the New York Giants. The twenty-one-year-old is +145 to be the Giants first selection, which represents a 41% chance. However, another popular US bookmaker, BetMGM have a slightly different take on the market, they have Simmons at +250 to be New York's first pick.
If you were to place $50 on Simmons being the Giants first pick at +250, you could potentially win $175. This is $52.50 more than if you placed the bet at +145.
Despite Simmons being a pretty short-priced favorite with one sportsbook, there are a few other standout names which could tempt the Giants. Tristan Wirfs is the second-favorite in the market at +250, which represents a 29% chance. Wirfs is also the second-favorite with BetMGM in the first offensive lineman drafted market behind Jedrick Wills Jr.
Mekhi Becton closely follows Wirfs in the market at +390, which implies a 20% chance of becoming the Giants first pick.
Jedrick Wills Jr is the only other player to have odds shorter than +1000 with both FanDuel and BetMGM. The twenty-year-old is currently priced at +550 to be the Giants first pick.
