Super Bowl Odds
Football finally returns this week and some last-minute activity on the betting market has produced a twist which will be well received in Baltimore.
The Kansas City Chiefs are the consensus favorites to defend their Super Bowl crown this year, with the majority of oddsmakers posting odds of +600.
The Ravens, meanwhile, are considered by most sportsbooks to be a very close second with over half a dozen listing odds of +650.
However, there are a few sites which believe that the Ravens are the frontrunners to win the Vince Lombardi trophy, with one offering odds of +400. This suggests they believe that the Ravens have a 20% chance of winning it before the season even begins.
Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl odds were between +700 and +600 just four weeks ago, therefore it would have taken a sizeable amount of money to shift them to as short as +400.

Elsewhere, we've seen online sportsbooks cut both Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl odds marginally in the last month. The Cowboys could have been backed at +1800 four weeks ago, and are now +1700, and the Buccaneers Super Bowl odds have been trimmed from +1600 to +1500.
Looking further down the Super Bowl odds market, Buffalo Bills have been clipped from +3200 to +2800 and Tennesse Titans Super Bowl odds have moved from +4000 to +3500.
Oddschecker spokesperson Pete Watt: “There aren’t many who would argue that the Ravens and the Chiefs are the two teams to beat this year – apart from some very optimistic Niners, Saints and Bucs fans.”
“The Chiefs have been the undisputed favorites throughout the entirety of the off season but with just days to go until the season begins, the markets have shifted.”
“This could be due to a flurry of wagers behind the Ravens, or perhaps some very positive noises coming out of training camps. Whatever it is, if you’re of a Baltimore persuasion then you certainly won’t be complaining.”
