After just three weeks of the season the Vikings’ divisional chances have been written on by oddsmakers
Minnesota Vikings have slipped from being the betting favorite to win the NFC North to underdog in just three weeks.
In pre-season, the Vikings’ odds of winning the division were +163, meaning simply that their implied probability of success was 38.10%.
However, as the graphic below depicts, their odds have slipped week-on-week since then and they are now listed at +1600. As a result, their implied chance has diminished to 5.88% and they now have the same odds of winning the NFC North as Detroit Lions.
In the same timeframe, they have also moved from 7th favorite to win the NFC in preseason to 12th favorite today, and from 11th to 21st in terms of the Super Bowl.
NFC North Winner Odds
Green Bay Packers -176
Chicago Bears +300
Detroit Lions +1600
Minnesota Vikings +1600
