NFL MVP Latest Odds: Josh Allen New Favorite to Win MVP

The Buffalo Bills move to Super Bowl favorites as Josh Allen becomes the new MVP favorite after their Week 5 victory.

The Buffalo Bills stunned the Chiefs at Arrowhead on Sunday night. That win was more than enough for oddsmakers to fall in love not just with the Bills but with Josh Allen.

The Bills began the season with the third-best odds to win the Super Bowl at +1300. It was their best Super Bowl odds in 27 years. After five weeks, the Bills are now tied with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the best odds to win the Super Bowl in the league at +600.

It doesn’t stop there, though. Josh Allen had become almost an afterthought in the MVP race early in the season. He began the year with the third-best odds to win the award at +1300, but he was outside the top-5 after Week 4. Well, now he’s sitting atop the odds market at +500. Former favorite Kyler Murray trails him at +650, then the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Justin Herbert at +700.

The Bills look like the real deal. Since their Week 1 loss, the Bills are averaging 39 points per game while allowing just 10.3 points per game. It’s virtually impossible to play better than that in the NFL. So, it makes sense that they’re the favorites to win the Super Bowl right now.

The Bills are 4-1 with four straight wins. Before last night's impressive showing against the Chiefs, they had three absolutely dominating victories over lesser opponents. They beat down on the Dolphins, Washington, and the Texans. These three wins included two shutouts over Miami and the Texans. It's rare we see shutouts in the NFL and the Bills have already done it twice through five weeks.

The Bills victory over Kansas City was nothing short of impressive. Josh Allen looked like the best player on the field and that same field had Quarterback Patrick Mahomes on it as well. So, it certainly appears the Bills are rightfully priced and so is Josh Allen as the favorite to win MVP right now.

Of course, there’s no way anybody could ignore a Quarterback leading an offense to nearly 40 points a game in the MVP race. Still, The MVP market is volatile, with three favorites the last three weeks. So, it wouldn’t be a shock to see someone overtake Allen next week.
