NFL Odds: Do the Eagles Present the Lions With Their Best Chance To Get Their First Win of the Season?

The Lions put up a fight against the Rams, and oddsmakers have respected that. So, despite another loss, the Lions' odds to go winless simply remained stagnant.

Detroit Lions Odds to go Winless

Detroit is given +850 odds to go winless this season, or an implied 10.5% chance. That said, oddsmakers do give the Lions better odds to win a few games than they do to go winless. Namely, oddsmakers believe the Lions have a real shot against the Eagles. The Eagles are +155, or an implied 39.2% chance to be the Lions' first victory.

Detroit Lions First Win Odds

The Lions are also given decent odds to get their first win against the Bears, +475, Steelers, +500, Browns +600. So, despite the crazy short odds, oddsmakers do still have faith that the Lions will win a game this year.

The Lions have played a few close games this year. They just haven’t figured out how to win them yet. That’s not surprising considering how young their team is. It takes time to learn how to win. That said, at 0-7 with a difficult schedule ahead of them, a winless season is very realistic. Those odds are likely to change drastically if the Lions can’t get a win against the Eagles on Sunday.
