Texans Running Back David Johnson is Out With COVID-19
The Houston Texans are making a quarterback change this week as they’re going back to Davis Mills over Tyrod Taylor. The rookie signal-caller has seven touchdowns to eight interceptions and is averaging 175.8 yards per game.
Well, this week, he’ll be without one of his better offensive weapons against Seattle and that’s David Johnson. As reported by Adam Schefter, Johnson was placed on the COVID list before today’s game.
The Texans already moved on from Mark Ingram and Phillip Lindsay so expect veteran Rex Burkhead to be the lead back for the Texans today. Over the last three weeks, Burkhead has gotten more reps going:
- 18-40 vs TEN
- 12-27 vs NYJ
- 8-30 vs IND
The Texans’ opponent, Seattle has struggled immensely on the defensive side of the ball. They rank 24th in rushing yards against and have allowed 11 touchdowns on the ground over the course of their season.
In order to ease Mills back into the action, expect Houston to try to get the running game going and Burkhead should be at the forefront of that.
