7 minsNFL Quarterback Rankings: Ranking the Top 10 Quarterbacks Heading Into Week 11
Week 10 of the NFL season is in the rearview mirror, and it was an absolute doozy. The last remaining undefeated team, the Eagles, finally suffered their first loss—as 11-point favorites, no less—and the Vikings overcame a 17-point deficit to beat the Bills in the most entertaining game of the season to date. Meanwhile, the Dolphins continued to display their virtually unstoppable offense by hanging 39 points on the Browns, and the Packers scored 17 straight to overturn a 14-point Cowboys lead (the Cowboys had won 195 straight games when entering the fourth quarter up 14 or more, for reference).
So, let's take a look at how this wild slate of games shifted the quarterback landscape. Which QBs deserve higher spots, and which ones should be bumped down following poor showings? Here are my NFL QB rankings.

NFL Quarterback Rankings
1. Patrick Mahomes (KC ) - MVP Odds(+125) Bet $100 to collect $225. Best odds available at DraftKings (click here)
Mahomes entered the week as my top quarterback in the league, and he built on that status with a stellar performance on Sunday. He completed 26-of-35 pass attempts for 4 touchdowns, 1 interception, and 331 yards, leading the Chiefs to their third-straight win. With two months remaining in the regular season, Mahomes is the clear, odds-on favorite to win the MVP award; there is no reason why he shouldn't be at the top of this list.
2. Tua Tagovailoa (MIA) MVP Odds (+500) Bet $100 to collect $600) Click here for the best odds, available at FanDuel
The Dolphins offense has been the best in the league over the last three weeks, averaging 35 points and 448.7 yards per game. Tua Tagovailoa has been a big reason for that production—he leads the league in QB rating and passer rating while also ranking top 3 in completion percentage and passing yards per game. Those statistics do need to be taken with a large grain of salt, given that Tua is surrounded by a better supporting cast, arguably, better than any other quarterback in the NFL. That's why there is still a sizable gap between Mahomes and Tua—in my eyes, Mahomes simply adds more value to his team. Second, on the list seems like a fair balance between crediting Tua for his efficient play and accounting for relevant context.
3. Josh Allen (BUF) - MVP Odds (+600) (Bet $100 to Win $700) Click here for the best odds, available at DraftKings
Josh Allen has been largely good this season, and it's important not to let recency bias distract from that fact. However, over the last three weeks, we have seen a re-emergence of some of the issues that plagued his first two years in the league. Indeed, Allen has thrown six interceptions in his last three games, bringing his year-long total to a league-leading 10. Both picks against Minnesota on Sunday were boneheaded; his interception that ended the game in overtime was completely inexplicable. That being said, Allen is top 3 in passing touchdowns, passing yards per game, and QB rating. He's the main reason that the Bills have been one of the league's elite offenses, and he deserves to remain at the top of this list.
4. Jalen Hurts (PHI) MVP Odds (+550) Bet $100 to collect $650) Click here for the best odds, available at Caesars
Jalen Hurts' Eagles lost for the first time this season on Monday night, dropping a home divisional game to the Commanders in a stunner. Hurts was solid, throwing 2 touchdowns and 1 interception while adding a touchdown on the ground, but he couldn't put together a scoring drive with the game on the line. Hurts has 14 passing touchdowns, 7 rushing touchdowns, and 3 interceptions on the season. He ranks top 6 in QB rating and passer rating, demonstrating the leap he has taken as a passer since entering the league. It should be interesting to see how he and the Eagles move forward from here—they have a ridiculously easy schedule and the inside track to the NFC's top seed, but they haven't yet had to respond to adversity.
5. Lamar Jackson - BAL MVP Odds (+1400) (Bet $100 to Win $1500) Click here for the best odds, available at DraftKings
Baltimore was on a bye in Week 10, so there isn't anything new to say about Lamar. Despite a shockingly weak supporting cast, he has put up a quality statistical (and otherwise) season; he ranks top 10 in passing touchdowns, QB rating, and passer rating. The Ravens are 6-3—leading the AFC North—and seem to be odds-on to win the division. It's hard to look at this team whose defense has been mediocre and not credit the elite, dual-threat quarterback for carrying the load.
6. Geno Smith (SEA) - MVP Odds (+4000) Bet $100 to collect ($4,100) Best odds available at DraftKings (click here)
Geno Smith's improbable success this season remains one of the best stories in football—after an offseason where most wrote off the Seahawks due to the exit of Russell Wilson, Smith has led the Seahawks to the best record in the NFC West. He has been among the best quarterbacks in the sport, ranking top 5 in passing touchdowns, QB rating, and passer rating. Seattle lost on Sunday against Tampa Bay in the Munich game, but Smith was solid in defeat, completing 23-of-33 passes for 275 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions. Overall, his body of work this season is deserving of consideration for a spot in the 5-7 range—sixth is fair.
7. Joe Burrow (CIN) - MVP Odds (+2500) Bet $100 to collect ($2,600) Best odds available at DraftKings (click here)
The Bengals were on a bye last week, so there isn't anything new to discuss with regard to Burrow. He remains tied for the third-most touchdown passes in the NFL, and his passer rating ranks fifth. His form has picked up since an abysmal Week 1—from Weeks 2-9, he threw for 16 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions. He's certainly a quarterback worth watching as the season progresses, especially considering the Bengals' position in a tightening AFC playoff race.
8. Kirk Cousins (MIN) - MVP Odds (+3000) Bet $100 to collect ($3,100) Best odds available at DraftKings (click here)
It's time to give Kirk Cousins his due credit. The Vikings have just one loss, which ties them for the best record in the entire league. That record is due to various factors—including superb coaching, timely defense, and a fair bit of luck—but Cousins has played a role. Minnesota's offense has scored 24 or more points in seven of their last eight games, including their statement win in Buffalo on Sunday. In that win, the Vikings overturned a 17-point deficit in the second half to send the game to overtime. Of course, they needed an improbable defensive score on a botched snap to take the lead in the last minute. Still, the offense got them to that point, propelled by the superhuman play of Justin Jefferson (and, by association, the fact that Cousins gave them a chance). Cousins' year-long statistics do not pop off the page, but I think his solid stats—combined with the Vikings' general success on offense—are enough to grant Cousins a spot on the list.
9. Justin Herbert (LAC) - MVP Odds (+10000) Bet $100 to collect ($10,100) Best odds available at DraftKings (click here)
Herbert is a quarterback whose play is difficult to pin down due to the barrage of injuries that the Chargers have suffered on the offensive side of the ball. Both of their top two receivers, Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, have missed significant time this season (Allen has barely played). Their standout left tackle, Rashawn Slater, suffered an injury early in the year that ended his season. Despite all of that, Herbert has been quite good, throwing for 14 touchdowns and 6 interceptions while leading LA to a winning record. It should be interesting to see how the Chargers' season progresses as they return some players from injury.
10. Daniel Jones (NYG) - MVP Odds (+30000) Bet $100 to collect $30,100) Click here for the best odds, available at Caesars
Rounding out the top 10, we have the Giants' fourth-year signal caller. Jones has never played at the level of a true franchise QB, but he has quietly put together a quality campaign despite playing behind an inconsistent line with almost no NFL-caliber receivers to target. He now has the eighth-highest QB rating and the 12th-highest passer rating in the league; the Giants are 7-2. Granted, Saquon Barkley's resurgence has been the key driver of the Giants' offensive competence, but Jones has done his job well. Specifically, Jones has cut down on the turnovers that plagued his initial years in the league, recording just 3 interceptions and 3 fumbles through Week 10. The Giants' path to success with this barebones roster has been—and will continue to be—fundamentally sound, mistake-free football, a plan that Jones has (thus far) executed to perfection.
