Any way you slice it, rookie wide receiver Chris Olave has had a fantastic season. He is fourth in air yards, 13th in receiving yards, and 17th in target share, and has scored three touchdowns. But his season is truly a case of what might have been. With Andy Dalton as his primary quarterback, Olave has a 535-yard gap between his air yards (1,475) and his receiving yards (940). That's the largest gap in the league and just a product of Dalton's inaccuracy.

Under normal circumstances, the Saints would be picking ninth in the 2023 draft and have a chance to take the quarterback of the future. But that pick goes to Philadephia this season so the Saints are going to have to try in the second round or in free agency. It doesn't diminish the strong season from Olave and how he can be a difference-maker downfield, but the poor QB play has hurt his chances of being able to take home OROY.

In the last two weeks, Watson had his bye week and then an average game (four catches for 46 yards) against Jalen Ramsey and a tough Rams pass defense. With Kenneth Walker struggling and injured, I see no real reason for the huge lengthening of his odds all the way to +900. Watson is now playing over 85% of snaps every game and has at least a 21% target share in four of his last five games.

Watson was a combine darling, ranking in the 96th percentile or higher in the 40-yard dash, speed score, burst score, and catch radius. He is now up to 11th among all receivers in yards per reception and 13th in yards per target. It has been an amazing ascension for a player who was a bit of an unknown coming out of North Dakota State University, but if he keeps this trend up, he could still have a real shot at a late-season run at this award. Currently checking in at +900, he still is definitely worth a few bets being thrown his way. A few more big games with scores would push him way up this list.

Even before Kenneth Walker suffered an ankle injury in Week 13, his production had begun to sharply decline. When Rashaad Penny went down for the season, Walker had a tremendous first month. In the four games following the promotion to a full-time role, Walker averaged 22 rush attempts, 106 rushing yards, and 1.5 touchdowns per game. He averages 10 rush attempts, 31.5 yards, and 0.5 touchdowns per game in the four games since.

That steep drop off in his play not only has the Seahawks on the outside looking in for the playoffs but also has caused his odds of winning this award to drop from -145 three weeks ago to well behind the current leader. There is still time to regain some momentum, but with games against the Chiefs, Jets, and Rams remaining, it's not the best schedule the rookie running back could hope for.

When quarterback Mike White was injured and the Jets were forced to go back to Zach Wilson, the collective groan you heard was all the Garrett Wilson bettors who got him on a longshot. Wilson averaged 3.7 receptions and 45.6 yards per game in the seven games before the quarterback switch with zero scores. Wilson then had 6.5 catches, 128.5 yards per game in the two games with Mike White, and two scores. But on Sunday against the Lions, Wilson was at least able to grab four catches for 98 yards, allowing him to stay in the lead for OROY.

Wilson is now down to -200, but the best thing going for Wilson is his upcoming schedule. He now faces Seattle and Jacksonville in his next two matchups. Between those two teams, they have allowed 28 receiver touchdowns and 140.5 yards per game to wide receivers. This Jets' runway is clear for Wilson to keep this massive lead for OROY, assuming Zach Wilson can keep him engaged in the offense and be somewhat accurate on his throws.
