The Jets are given +300 odds, or an implied 25% chance to land Derek Carr. They narrowly edged out the Indianapolis Colts who are given +325 odds, or an implied 23.5% chance. This market is crowded, to say the least, seven teams are given at least a 10% chance to land Carr, and 12 teams are on the market.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers stand a clear third and fourth on the market. Tampa Bay is given +600 odds, or an implied 15.4% chance, while Carolina is given +800 odds, or an implied 11.1% chance. They’re followed by the Washington Commanders, New Orleans Saints, and New England Patriots, all of whom are given +900 odds.

Perhaps the two most interesting teams on the market at the ones at the bottom. Both the Arizona Cardinals and the Green Bay Packers are given +2000 odds, or an implied 4.8% chance. It’s certainly interesting to see the books considering two teams that seem to have their franchise quarterbacks locked in for 2023, though who knows what Aaron Rodgers is thinking.

More than a third of the league will be looking for a new quarterback this off-season. So, it should come as no surprise that the likely best quarterback on the market is expected to be in demand.

Although the interesting thing is that the sportsbooks seem certain that the Raiders are going to replace Carr with a veteran QB and not a young one. Specifically, the Raiders are the favorites to land Tom Brady at +275, or an implied 26.7% chance. Can the Raiders convince Brady to not only play another year but play for a third team after how they handled Derek Carr?
