Well, sportsbooks believe the Raiders are going to end up with arguably the greatest quarterback of all time.

Tom Brady is given +275 odds, or an implied 26.7% chance to be the Las Vegas Raiders' Week 1 starter. Jimmy Garoppolo is behind him at +350, or an implied 22.2% chance. Then it’s Aaron Rodgers at +400, or an implied 20% chance. No other quarterback is given even a 10% chance of being the team’s Week 1 starter.
Could the Raiders draft a quarterback? Sure, but the books don’t think it’s anywhere near as likely. Bryce Young is given +1100 odds, or an implied 8.3% chance to be the team’s Week 1 starter. Will Levis and CJ Stroud are each given +1400 odds, or an implied 6.7% chance, tied with Baker Mayfield for the worst odds on the market. If they do go with a rookie Anthony Richardson is the most likely according to the books, with the Florida QB given +1000 odds or an implied 9.1% chance.
The Raiders aren’t letting Derek Carr go to enter a rebuild. They’re doing it with the full intention of competing next year. At least, that’s how the books are reading the situation. They’re given strong odds to land Brady or Garoppolo, both of whom are familiar with head coach Josh McDaniels. There’s also a chance that Rodgers comes and reunites with Davante Adams. Every other option looks unlikely.
Could the Raiders choose to go with a more unproven option? Sure they could. Could they go after Lamar Jackson in a trade, who has +1200 odds? It’s possible but it feels like the Raiders are gearing up to transition to the next generation and want someone who can help them compete in the meantime. It’s a retool not a rebuild, at least in the eyes of the books.
