Since the NFL playoffs have been finalized, San Francisco has seen 17.7% of bets placed on them to win it all. That slightly edges out the Bengals who are given 15.9% of bets. Both the Chiefs and Bills are also loved by bettors with 12% of bets and 10.5% of bets respectively.

The 49ers are so loved at this point that the next most bet-on team in the NFC is the Philadelphia Eagles at 6.9%. That’s less than half of the bets placed on the 49ers. In fact, you have to combine the Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and Minnesota Vikings bets together, 18.3% to matchup up to the 49ers' level of bets, 17.7%.

It’s easy to see why the 49ers are so loved by bettors. They’ve won 10 straight games, have the best defense in football, and they’re averaging over 30 points a game offensively with Purdy. However, in Purdy’s five starts, he’s beaten just one team that’s over .500, the Seattle Seahawks.

To be fair, he’ll also play the Seahawks this weekend. But in that game, he managed just 21 points, a stark contrast compared to the other teams he played. Quarterbacks making their first appearance to quarterbacks making the playoffs historically struggle. It wouldn’t be a shock if the 49ers win a playoff game or two, but win the Super Bowl? Well even getting there with Purdy would be historic.
