Super Bowl MVP Odds: Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow Tied at the Top

The NFL season is almost coming to a close, with the AFC and NFC Championship games this weekend. After two weeks of NFL playoff games, we have seen jaw-dropping plays, frustrating slipups, and overall some of the most exciting football played. With just four teams left, the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals, and the Kansas City Chiefs, there are a handful of superb Super Bowl MVP contenders. There's been plenty of movement amongst these contenders at the AFC and NFC Divisional Round games.

The Super Bowl betting market looks completely different from when the 2022-2023 NFL season opened. One team and player that has been consistent throughout is the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes. No one would have thought a third-string rookie QB would lead the 49ers, but here Brock Purdy is in the mix of winning the Super Bowl MVP. Mahomes, Hurts, and Burrow all currently lead the Super Bowl MVP odds.

Let's get into each NFL player's odds of winning the Super Bowl MVP award.

Jalen Hurts (+350) Bet $100 to collect $450. DraftKings has the best odds, click here to bet

Hurts has compiled quite an impressive resume from his 2022-2023 NFL season. Up until Week 16, Hurts was leading the Super Bowl MVP odds. However, after suffering a right-shoulder sprain, his odds jumped back a bit due to missed time. The Philadelphia Eagles currently lead the Super Bowl Winner odds, so it's no surprise that their signal-caller leads this list as well.

The 24-year-old quarterback put on a stellar performance in the regular season, logging 306 receptions for 3,701 yards and 22 touchdowns. On top of that, Hurts was successful on the ground as well, rushing 165 times for 760 yards and 13 touchdowns. The Oklahoma alum was a touchdown machine. Jalen continued to prove his talent in the postseason, recording three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing) in the Eagles' NFC Division Round win over New York.

Patrick Mahomes (+350) Bet $100 to collect $450. Caesars has the best odds, click here

Kansas City has been incredibly lucky to have been led by Patrick Mahomes since 2017. Since entering the league, Mahomes has brought the Chiefs to five–straight AFC Championship Games from the 2018 season through the 2022 season. The 27-year-old continues to surprise us year after year, he seems only to get better.

Patrick suffered a high-ankle sprain injury during the Chiefs' AFC Division Round win over Jackson, and although he was able to stay on the field and make an impact, his ankle needs to heal. Andy Reid spoke on Monday to provide more insight that Mahomes is determined to play in the AFC Championship game. This would impact his Super Bowl MVP odds.

Prior to his injury, Mahomes completed 435 passes for 5,250 yards and 41 touchdowns through the regular season. He ran 61 times for 358 yards and four additional touchdowns on the ground. The hype around Patrick Mahomes is real.

Joe Burrow (+350) Bet $100 to collect $450. DraftKings has the best odds, click here to bet

A fan favorite, Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals are inching closer to a second consecutive Super Bowl appearance. If Burrow can win the AFC Championship game, his odds will be significantly cut, so put your bets in now. A fully healthy Burrow going head-to-head against a banged-up Patrick Mahomes sounds like the perfect recipe for the Bengals to advance, but that's just my opinion.

Why is there so much hype surrounding the 6'4 quarterback? Burrow's posted an equally impressive 2022-2023 campaign as Mahomes and Hurts, which is why all three are tied at +350 odds. The first-round pick out of LSU completed 414 passes for 4,475 yards and 35 touchdowns, with 75 runs for 257 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. That was just the regular season. His postseason career of 2023 is just as noteworthy, posting 68 receptions for 451 and three touchdowns.

Brock Purdy (+700) Bet $100 to collect $800. Caesars has the best odds, click here

Brock Purdy, who? Mr. Irrelevant is not so irrelevant anymore. No one would have predicted Purdy's name would be in the top five for winning the Super Bowl MVP, let alone leading the 49ers' offense. Although he's only played in five games for San Fran, he has won every single one of them. His numbers aren't as impressive as the other three, but for what he has done so far, oddsmakers are seriously blown away. Will he be able to gain a victory over Jalen Hurts and the elite Philadelphia Eagles and advance to the Super Bowl? That would be a story for the books.

Christian McCaffrey (+1700) Bet $100 to collect $1800. FanDuel has the best odds, click here

Finally, an NFL player who is not a quarterback, Christian McCaffrey. Not a single person would have thought that CMC would be in the running for a Super Bowl MVP entering this season. Starting off with the Panthers, CMC has had quite the year. While the star running back has always been an explosive weapon, it wasn't until he joined San Francisco that his work was seen converting to wins.

The running back is more than just a player in the backfield. McCaffrey is one of, if not the most, reliable offensive weapons. The 26-year-old was also successful in the air, catching 52 passes for 464 yards and four touchdowns during the regular season. Being a dual threat has allowed him to blossom into this star and has been crucial to the 49ers' offense. Aside from one playoff game with Carolina back in 2018, the running back has never made it this far in the postseason. It would be extraordinary for him and the Niners to advance to the Super Bowl.
