Eagles vs. 49ers NFC Championship Betting

Philadelphia enters the game as a 2.5-point favorite. Not as big as many bettors would have had the spread, though, as they have been a popular bet. The Eagles have seen 62.3% of bets placed on them to come out victorious in this one and represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Meaning only 37.7% of bets have been placed on the 49ers to win.

The 49ers have just one win this season as an underdog. That came early in the season against the Los Angeles Rams, who ended up as one of the worst teams in the NFL this year. The Eagles do have two losses as a favorite this year, though, losing to the Commanders and the Saints. So, Philly can be prone to playing down to the level of their competition.

This is only the second time that these two teams have met in the playoffs. The first time was in 1996, when the 49ers won 14-0.

Bettors are backing the favorites here, and it’s easy to see why. Brock Purdy has struggled two weeks in a row. It’s going to be hard for him to deal with the best pass rush in the NFL and an elite Cornerback duo. Meanwhile, the Eagles offense is arguably the best in the NFL, and while the 49er defense is elite, it’s not likely going to hold them to 12 points as they did against Dallas last week. The 49ers will need their offense to step up in this one, and a rookie Quarterback stepping up in this kind of game just hasn’t happened.
