The bookmakers didn’t think much of Derek Carr’s visit to Florham Park when it was announced last Friday. However, they now see the former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback as a near-lock for Gang Green.

Derek Carr Next Team odds
When his visit was announced on Friday night, the New York Jets were given +325 odds to land him or an implied 23.5% chance. Those odds now stand at -200 or an implied 66.6% chance to land Carr.
Meanwhile, the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints have seen their odds lengthen in a major way. The Panthers moved from +135 to +250 or a change from an implied 42.6% chance to a 28.6% chance. The Saints went from +150 to +300 or a change from an implied 40% chance to a 25% chance.
This isn’t the first time the sportsbooks have had odds this strong on a Carr suitor. The Saints were given -200 odds a day before news broke on their agreement on compensation with the Raiders. Of course, the 31-year-old refused to waive his no-trade clause putting that to an end. With Carr being a free agent now, perhaps the sportsbooks believe his mind is getting closer to being made up.
Reports have been that Derek Carr wants to make a decision before the Combine on the 28th. That might mean limiting his options as the Jets and Saints are the only teams known to be in on him at this point. Could another visit come to be, maybe with the Panthers?
The sportsbooks certainly believe the Panthers have a shot considering that they were the favorites before the Jets visit. So it would be surprising if there wasn't any news there.
The Aaron Rodgers connection with the Jets is also a factor here. The Raiders are currently -200 to land Rodgers, but the Jets are reportedly waiting on his official decision. There are a lot of moving parts here, but we may get clarification within the next week.
