When the Vikings cut Adam Thielen, he became arguably the top wide receiver on the market. The former All-Pro is almost certain to leave Minnesota for the first time in his life. After growing up in Minnesota, attending Minnesota State, and then playing his whole career for the Vikings, Thielen is finally moving on. So where could he end up? The books have their eyes set on the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Jets.

Thielen is a friend of Aaron Rodgers. As a result, he’s going to be connected to the Jets, and that has the books given Gang Green +300 odds or an implied 25% chance to land Thielen. If he doesn’t follow his golfing buddy to New York, the books believe the Chiefs are an equally logical spot at +300, or an implied 25% chance.

It’s not just the Jets and Chiefs at the top of the market, though. The Cleveland Browns and the Buffalo Bills are given +350 odds, or an implied 22.2% chance. The Dolphins are right there at +500, or an implied 16.7% chance.

Missing from the market are the Carolina Panthers, who have a meeting with Thielen set up. The books clearly believe Thielen is ticketed for a contender, which Carolina isn’t. Of the ten teams on the market, four teams made the playoffs, and the ones who didn’t are the Jets, Rams, Lions, Broncos, and Browns, all expected to make a playoff push next season. So while Carolina is interested, the books don’t believe they’re a serious threat yet.
