The New York Giants were an absolute disaster in 2024, and this upcoming season doesn't look a whole lot better. Drew Lock and the slapped-together roster accidentally beat the Colts in Week 17, and the draft pick suffered as a result.
Instead of reaching for a QB and trading up to try and get Cam Ward as per the original plan, the Giants instead grabbed Abdul Carter with the 3rd pick, let Shedeur Sanders slide by, and scooped up Jaxson Dart at the end of the first round. Now, everyone's wondering if the Ole Miss QB with a little bit of swagger has the ability to turn things around at MetLife Stadium. Brian Daboll is hoping so, because his job depends on it.
Despite that, newly-acquired Russell Wilson is set to start for the Giants in Week 1 against the Washington Commanders. Who knows how long his tenure will last, because if NYG starts 1-5 or something similar, Dart will be shoved in to see his talent level as a last ditch effort.
Can Russell Wilson or Jaxson Dart steer the Giants back towards a playoff team by the end of the season? The expectations are low, and the oddsmakers aren't projecting much, but Dart may be able to surprise some people if he takes over. Let's take a look at the New York Giants win totals, playoff odds, and more props for the 2025 season.

New York Giants Super Bowl Odds
There are teams who have an outside shot at the Super Bowl, and it would take a lot to go right for them to find their way there, and then there's the Giants. They are not even in the "if everything goes right and every other team blows it, we can make it to the Super Bowl" category. They are in the tier below that, sitting with the Jets, Browns, and Saints. If you said Super Bowl in their locker room, everyone would start laughing. The +22500 odds give them a whopping 0.4% chance.

New York Giants Win Total Odds
The New York Giants were given a low 6.5 win total last year, and they couldn't even muster half of that. It was surprising they even got to three by the end of the season.
If you take a look at their schedule, they are going to be underdogs in the vast majority of games. Every September game is already an underdog of at least a field goal, some closer to a touchdown. As the sportsbooks see their poor performance, that gap will only widen. On a win total of 5.5 here, I'm not taking the over, that's for sure.
If we're being completely honest, there's only even a few chances for a win on this schedule. NYG is listed to have the 5th-hardest schedule in the NFL, and there is literally no "gimme" available. They could maybe beat the Saints but it's on the road, maybe have a chance against the Vikings/Bears, and maybe against the Raiders in late December. Outside of that, the win total will hinge entirely on Dart giving this team a spark halfway through, or other teams blowing games with turnovers.

New York Giants Odds To Make the Playoffs
The New York Giants are not going to be a playoff team in 2025, and the odds of +700 explain that very clearly. They would be lucky to get close to their win total, but it would take a near miracle to sniff the playoffs.
The Giants begin the season against the Commanders, Cowboys, Chiefs, and Chargers. All of which should be losses. They are somewhere between a +3.5 and +6.5 underdog in every game, and might not see a win until October against the Saints. If anything, keep an eye on the Giants NO playoffs market, because if they somehow pull off a few miracle upsets, you could buy the dip on that one if it got lower than the current -1300.

New York Giants NFC East Division Odds
Even more so than the longshot playoff odds of +700, winning the NFC East division is an even less likely feat. The +3000 odds are plain and simple, the NFC East has a lot more talent than the Giants do. The Eagles are heavy favorites at -135, and the Commanders are in the running at +275. If both of them somehow stumble, the Cowboys would slide in. But there is just no way the Giants are in the mix for this one, and they are well aware of it.
