The Los Angeles Rams aren’t far behind at 2-1, carrying +190 odds to win the division. That narrow miss leaves them chasing San Francisco, though their balance on both sides of the ball suggests they could push for the top spot as the season develops.
Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks both sit at 2-1, but oddsmakers see a clear gap between them and the top two. NFC West Division Breakdown
The NFC West picture is coming into focus after three weeks, with all four teams above .500 and separated by just one game. Oddsmakers still see San Francisco as the favorite, but major injuries have cracked the door open for their rivals.
San Francisco 49ers (+110)
The 49ers entered the season as slight favorites, and at 3-0, they remain in first place. But their stranglehold on the division is slipping after star defensive end Nick Bosa went down with a torn ACL, ending his season. With quarterback Brock Purdy also sidelined short-term, San Francisco will need its depth to hold strong if they want to maintain control of the West.
Los Angeles Rams (+190)
If not for a blocked field goal in Philadelphia last week, the Rams might be the current favorite. Instead, they sit 2-1 and just behind San Francisco in the standings. Matthew Stafford is off to a sharp start, Kyren Williams is proving to be a workhorse, and Puka Nacua has picked up right where he left off. Add in Davante Adams and a steady defense, and the Rams are quietly the most balanced roster in the division. At +190, they could be the best value bet on the board.
Seattle Seahawks (+600)
Seattle is also 2-1, but questions remain. Sam Darnold has avoided big mistakes so far, yet it’s unclear whether he can consistently keep pace against the elite competition out west. The Seahawks have stayed relatively healthy compared to their rivals, but their lack of star power could make it tough to sustain success deep into the season.
Arizona Cardinals (+750)
Arizona has fought hard through three weeks, but losing running back James Conner for the year with a foot injury is a brutal setback. Rookie Trey Benson now steps into a bigger role, and while the Cardinals’ defense has shown flashes, it’s hard to see them keeping up with the firepower of San Francisco or Los Angeles over the long haul.
With San Francisco banged up and Arizona on shaky ground, this division could quickly turn into a two-team race. The Rams look built for the long haul, and with a +190 price tag, they might just be the smartest play in the NFC West.
