NFL MVP Odds: Daniel Jones Enters MVP Conversation after Red-Hot Start with Colts

We're almost a third of the way through the NFL regular season, and Daniel Jones has crept into the MVP race. That's right, the same Daniel Jones of notable disaster with the New York Giants, in the year 2025, is competing for the MVP.

Through five games, the Colts are 4-1, and really could be 5-0 if not for a fumbled touchdown against the Rams. Daniel Jones was named the starter in the preseason, much to everyone's surprise. And in his new environment, everything has clicked for Shane Steichen's offense. Jones has passed for nearly 1,300 yards, six touchdowns, and only two interceptions. He's playing mistake free football for the most part, and the Colts are reaping the rewards.

As the wins keep piling up for Indianapolis, Jones is now in the top-10 of the latest NFL MVP odds as a result. Can Jones keep stacking victories and find his way into the top group of MVP hopefuls like Josh Allen and Justin Herbert.

NFL MVP Odds Breakdown

Josh Allen (+150) Click here to get the best odds at DraftKings Sportsbook

Josh Allen and the Bills finally dropped their first game of the season, losing in a close defensive battle to the New England Patriots in an AFC East rivalry clash. It's sometimes good to get the first loss out of the way, and the Bills can now focus on a stretch of road games against mediocre opponents where they'll have to prove themselves in other environments.

Allen fell from -105 back to plus odds at +150 following the loss, but he's still the heavy favorite in this race. He will try to get back on track against the Falcons as -4.5 favorites in Week 6.

Patrick Mahomes (+470) Click here to get the best odds at DraftKings Sportsbook

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs came up short on Monday Night Football against a Jags team that is looking really good so far. There's not a ton of shame in that loss, but with the only wins for the Chiefs coming against the lowly Giants and the banged-up Ravens, there is still a lot to prove.

Mahomes and co. will have their chance at the biggest win of the season when they host the red-hot Detroit Lions as -2.5 favorites on Sunday Night Football. It is the game to watch in Week 6, and with Xavier Worthy back in the lineup and heating up, Mahomes will have extra targets to connect with. He's also only a week away from getting Rashee Rice back, so the Chiefs will try to turn on the gas in the middle part of this season. As other QBs struggle to get consistent wins or overcome injuries, Mahomes has the door wide open for him to challenge Allen.

Baker Mayfield (+950) Click here to get the best odds at FanDuel Sportsbook

Baker Mayfield just took down the Seattle Seahawks on the road in Week 5, pulling the upset as a +3.5 underdog. He's battled through the most offensive injuries of any team this year, losing receivers and linemen left and right. This week, they even did it without star RB Bucky Irving.

It doesn't matter who's on the field or what he deficit is, Mayfield is out there competing. He's well-deserving of these +950 odds, and we could see him rise again this week if the Bucs (-3) can defeat the banged-up 49ers at home.

Daniel Jones (+3500) Click here to get the best odds at FanDuel Sportsbook

One, two, skip a few and here we are at Indiana Jones. The new Colts QB is top-8 in MVP odds, rising up to +3500. He hasn't quite broken into the top group of QBs, as the stats are slightly lower and the history of issues still lingers on the minds of bettors and sportsbooks alike.

But if Jones continues what he's doing against a few of the tougher opponents coming up, he won't be back here for long. Keep an eye on the old Danny Dimes against the reeling Cardinals this week as a 7 point favorite.
