The 2025 Rocket Classic follows Keegan Bradley's dramatic comeback win over Tommy Fleetwood at the Travelers Championship on Sunday. A full field of 156 golfers will descend upon Detroit Golf Club as the next stop on the PGA Tour circuit.
Big names like Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are not in the Rocket Classic field this week. This has led to Collin Morikawa being valued as the betting favorite by oddsmakers at +1200 odds. Keegan Bradley (+1600), Patrick Cantlay (+1800), Ben Griffin (+2200) and Cameron Young (+2800) round out the top five betting favorites at Detroit Golf Club.
Last year's winner, Cam Davis, won the Rocket Classic for the second time in his PGA Tour career after Akshay Bhatia missed a four-foot par putt to force a playoff. Bhatia joined Davis Thompson, Min Woo Lee and Aaron Rai for a runner-up finish at -17-under-par. Thompson (+5000) and Lee (+4500) are back in the field for the 2025 Rocket Classic.
Detroit Golf Club plays as a par 72 running 7,370 yards. Water hazards are limited, while fairways are lined by thick rows of trees with a blend of bluegrass and ryegrass rough. The Bentgrass and Poa annua greens are relatively small in square feet, placing an emphasis on approach shots.

PGA Power Rankings: Rocket Classic
1. Ben Griffin (+2200) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Rocket Classic odds
Ben Griffin is playing fantastic golf tee-to-green in 2025. He cooled off a bit during the Travelers Championship but still recorded a T14 finish at 7-under-par.
Ranked 15th total strokes gained, including 34th SG: Approach, 35th SG: Putting and 17th at finding greens in regulation, Griffin has blended accuracy and a strong short game to sit 20th in scoring average.
He carded a T31 finish at Detroit Golf Club in 2024, starting hot at 5-under-par in Round 1. I expect Griffin to contend for his third outright win of the season at the 2025 Rocket Classic.
2. Cameron Young (+2800) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Rocket Classic odds
Cameron Young has climbed into contention at the Rocket Classic in his last two appearances at Detroit Golf Club. In 2024, he carded a T6 finish at 15-under-par, failing to keep momentum into the final round, finishing +1 on Sunday to slide down the leaderboard. Young's performance in 2022 yielded one of eight runner-up finishes, although he did finish five strokes back of winner Tony Finau.
It's been an up-and-down campaign for Young in 2025. He's got four top 10 finishes, posting back-to-back T4 finishes at the RBC Canadian Open and U.S. Open, before a discouraging T52 finish at the Travelers Championship. Young did card an opening round 65 at TPC River Highlands but was unable to stay under par in the final three rounds.
Ranks ninth SG: Putting, 17th driving distance and 29th birdie average. Young is a bomber off-the-tee with great touch on the greens, so he's certainly worth an investment at 28-1 in the outright winner betting market at the 2025 Rocket Classic.
3. Harry Hall (+3300) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Rocket Classic odds
Harry Hall is another great putter on the PGA Tour who could get hot at Detroit Golf Club this week. The Englishman ranks 12th in total strokes gained, including second SG: Putting, 11th scrambling and leading the PGA Tour in putts per round.
Hall's incredible putting talent has him ranked second in scoring average, third on par 4s and fourth in birdie average this season. Went T31 at the 2024 Rocket Classic.
Hall's strong showing at the Travelers Championship this past weekend resulted in a T9. It's his fourth top 10 finish of the season and second in a three-event span, carding a T6 finish at the Charles Schwab Challenge in late May.
Oddsmakers are bullish on Hall based on these 33-1 odds in the outright winner market. His short game is phenomenal and gives him an edge over other ball-strikers in the field.
4. Akshay Bhatia (+4500) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Rocket Classic odds
Akshay Bhatia has had an entire calendar year to digest his brutal loss to Cam Davis on the 72nd hole at the 2024 Rocket Classic. The 23-year-old has three career wins, including last year at the Valero Texas Open. However, it's been a bit of a rough stretch lately for Bhatia.
After posting a quality T16 finish at the Memorial Tournament to start June, he missed the cut at the U.S. Open, before turning in a forgettable T54 finish at the Travelers Championship. He only went under par once, which happened in Round 3 at TPC River Highlands.
Ranks 44th in total strokes gained this season. 24th SG: Approach, 15th SG: Putting, 28th proximity and 13th putting average. Also 27th on approach shots from 200+ yards and 14th for birdie average.
There's plenty to like about Bhatia, despite recent struggles. Factor in the revenge angle after squandering an opportunity to win this event in 2024 and I like Bhatia quite a bit at his current 45-1 price.
5. Alex Smalley (+5500) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Rocket Classic odds
Alex Smalley doesn't have a PGA Tour win yet but he's played the best golf of his career in 2025. He missed the cut at Detroit Golf Club in 2024 and went T47 in 2023. Yet his tee-to-green consistency is enough to intrigue me at +5500 odds.
Smalley ranks fourth in total strokes gained. Notably, he's 17th SG: Off-the-Tee, second total driving, 24th at finding greens in regulation and 16th scrambling. This has led to ranking fourth in scoring average, second on par 4s and 19th in birdie average.
Three top 30 finishes in the past four events played, including a T13 at the RBC Canadian Open and a T5 at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic. March and April were tough months for Smalley, especially after a strong start. He's been much better in May and June, trending up with his overall play on the links.
We're nearing longshot territory with Smalley at 55-1 odds in the 2025 Rocket Classic outright winner betting market. No part of his game is a big liability, so let's back Smalley to launch into contention with a strong start at Detroit Golf Club.
