Ludvig Aberg PGA Championship Odds, Betting Preview, and Predictions

Ludvig Åberg is preparing to make his PGA Championship debut at Valhalla Golf Club this week. The 24-year-old Swede is one of the outright betting favorites following his runner-up finish at Augusta National during The Masters a month ago.

Åberg withdrew from the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club last week due to knee soreness, which he's still nursing heading into Valhalla. Ranking 17th or better in strokes gained: off-the-tee and strokes gained: approaching the green, Åberg has used these areas of his game to yield three top-ten finishes in the past four events he's played.

PGA handicapper Matt MacKay is back to break down the latest PGA Championship odds for Åberg as he gets set for the opening tee time at Valhalla Golf Club on Thursday from Louisville, Kentucky to compete at the second major of the 2024 PGA Tour season.

LUDVIG ÅBERG PGA CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS: WINNER +2200 (Bet $100 to collect $2300)

There's a lot of hype surrounding Åberg based on his strong showing at Augusta National last month. It was the first major the Swede has ever competed at, so his runner-up finish has a lot of bettors bullish on his ability to pull off the outright win.

Åberg does have one outright win on the PGA Tour that came during the 2023 RSM Classic. However, due to his nagging knee soreness, plus the tendency to wind up in the rough despite lengthy drives, there is a reason why he's 22-1 in the outright winner betting market.

LUDVIG ÅBERG PGA CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS: TOP 5 FINISH +450 (Bet $100 to collect $550)

A top-five finishing position for Åberg at FanDuel Sportsbook is available to wager at +450 odds. This number should be at least 8-1, considering how difficult it is to manage a top-five finish at a major. However, after watching Åberg keep up with Scheffler until the final few holes at The Masters, oddsmakers are shortening his odds for another top-five finish.

We've seen Åberg record two top-five finishes, both runner-ups, at Pebble Beach and The Masters in 2024. +450 is enticing, but his putting has regressed a bit as well. The worst part of Åberg's game is strokes gained: around the green, so if he needs to scramble after missing some of the smallest greens in regulation, it could prove to be a difficult test.

LUDVIG ÅBERG PGA CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS: TOP 10 FINISH +210 (Bet $100 to collect $310)

If there's any finishing position market worth betting on Åberg, it's a top-ten finish at +210 odds. This gives us a bit more room for error, while his driver and approach game are his strongest attributes, factoring in well at a lengthy course like Valhalla.

Åberg has five top-ten finishes compared to only two top-five finishes, so +210 odds is a quality number to grab at this price.
