6 minPanthers vs. Oilers Playoff Series Odds: Total Games, Prop Bets for NHL Stanley Cup Final
For the first time since 2009, the NHL Stanley Cup Final will feature a rematch from the previous season. The Edmonton Oilers host the Florida Panthers in Game 1 and will look to take advantage of home ice in this series to get revenge following their Game 7 loss to the Panthers during the 2024 Stanley Cup Final.
Oddsmakers value the Oilers by a slim margin in the 2025 Stanley Cup Final. Edmonton is -120 to win this series, while the Panthers are currently available at plus odds to successfully defend their first franchise title.
There's plenty of star power on the ice, ranging from Edmonton's Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, to Florida's Matthew Tkachuk, Sam Bennett and Aleksander Barkov. Both goaltenders, Sergei Bobrovsky and Stuart Skinner, have been phenomenal defending the crease, setting up for a highly entertaining rematch that gets underway on Wednesday night.

NHL Stanley Cup Final Series Odds: Florida Panthers vs. Edmonton Oilers
Panthers (+102) vs. Oilers (-120) Series Moneyline Odds
Last year, Florida held home ice advantage and wound up needing it, returning to Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida to hold off Edmonton 2-1 to win the 2024 Stanley Cup Final in Game 7. Expect Edmonton to be aggressive in Game 1 to avoid falling into an early deficit like last year.
After being held to one total goal in the first two games of the 2024 Stanley Cup Final, the Oilers came up just short in Game 3. Then, it was all Edmonton in the next three games, scoring 18 goals to force Game 7.
Despite Connor McDavid's best efforts, which wound up getting him the Conn Smythe Trophy, the Oilers fell short in Sunrise. This time, it will be different, especially with Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner elevating his play in the net.
Sergei Bobrovsky led the Panthers to their first Stanley Cup Final win in franchise history last year. He's a highly talented and decorated goaltender but we've seen some poor outings from Bobrovsky during the 2025 playoffs.
Skinner has three shutouts, including back-to-back against Vegas, since returning to replace an injured Calvin Pickard. He held Dallas' offense to two total goals in Game 2, Game 3 and Game 4, allowing the Oilers' potent offense to seize early leads and dominate the flow of each game.
Florida won't go quietly but Edmonton's offense is in peak form at the perfect time. Depth from players like Corey Perry and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, plus Skinner shutting down offenses in between the pipes, is enough to justify backing Edmonton to win the 2025 NHL Stanley Cup Final as a -120 betting favorite.

Panthers vs. Oilers Total Games Odds: Over/Under 5.5
Oddsmakers have set the total games in this series at 5.5, with a lot of juice on over 5.5 at -210 odds. This implies that it's going to be 3-2 heading back to Sunrise for Game 6, with Edmonton likely holding the lead.
The Oilers have only lost once at home during the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Florida has lost three road games this postseason, although they've won five straight on the road heading into Game 1 at Rogers Place on Wednesday night.
I think Florida evens the series 1-1 before going back to Sunrise for Game 3. Edmonton will likely win a game on the road as well, just like they did in 2024. I don't expect either side to go up 3-0 like Florida did last year.
It's unlikely that we see a "Gentleman's Sweep" between Edmonton and Florida. Oddsmakers agree that a 4-1 series is a longshot due to the high-caliber goaltending and evenly matched offenses we're going to watch.

Panthers vs. Oilers Series Exact Games
Both Conference Finals were decided in five games. It's going to be a longer series in the Stanley Cup Final.
Oddsmakers have the series exact games betting market priced equally for 6 Games and 7 Games at +200 odds. 5 Games is +270, while 4 Games is a long +700 odds. This aligns with how the total games market is priced, with -210 on over 5.5 total games.
So do we think Florida will hold a 3-2 lead heading back to Sunrise for Game 6? Or will Edmonton have a 3-2 edge going on the road for the third time?
I think the Oilers will get revenge in the sweetest way possible by beating the Panthers in Sunrise during Game 6. Florida will steal a game on the road and likely lose a home game before this pivotal Game 6 matchup.
Ultimately, McDavid, Draisaitl, Evan Bouchard and the rest of Edmonton's scoring depth will prove to be too much for Bobrovsky and the Panthers to contain. Let's bet on 6 Games in the Series Exact Games prop at 2-1 odds.
